It rained and snowed yesterday, and this morning, there was a 100 car pileup on an overpass.

No rain or storms! The ones to the west fizzled out, then Ft. Worth and Dallas to the east had severe weather including tornados! Lots of wind!! Was 84° today, now 55°, pretty good cold front. Upper 30's out my way tonight!
Well, it almost rained this morning, the wind blew and the clouds rolled in from the south, and it almost rained this afternoon. I was watching the forecasters that said thunderstorms at 1PM, and they kept moving the goal line. Then they said 'heavy rain tonight'. No.
Well, it has almost rained today ☹️.
It's like any guy that has been on a date with a 'hot chick' that "almost" had sex can tell you, that is just a tease:mad:.
Speaking of, they are still trying to get Lisa to put out:

Former hurricane, tropical storm, now tropical depression. Tease:mad:.

The storms should be heading your way😃😉

I thought of many replies.......but, family forum!!

Thought it looked like we were on the far west edge of the projected storms and glad they blew on past without visiting. Got a nice view of an anvil-shaped cloud formation after work. Sprinkled here, was very windy, skies to the north were dark inky. 51° right now, supposed to dip down to 43 tonight.

Been raining all day. The dogs were miffed....in the kennel, out of the kennel, and so on. Little granddaughter put their new dog coats on and they looked very spiffy, but did not think so.
Raining hard again, is 38 at the moment, going down to 34. Will stop by morning. Possibility of snow, but I would be surprised.

Ice in the birdbaths again, just a thin layer... cold outside at 34 degrees F, some clouds moving in, good thing I'm not doing anything serious today. Maybe a town run later, I think I drank all the beer last night... just checked the fridge, and there are actually three beers left on the door, lol. Sharing quality time with the kittens right now, that's a priority for me. We're watching the wild birds outside, I dumped some birdseed out there earlier... so everybody's happy!

I see the Rockies had a good fall of snow. Here its turning into a nice day after a dodgy start. But we've been warned there's more rain this week- not heavy but the ground is so wet to expect flooding anyway.
The Rockies did get a good snowfall, and we on the Front Range got enough to cause driving problems. My first client of the day, a dog I pick up at 7:30, had the owners texted me yesterday and said it was too cold for the dog to go to the dog park. In a while, weeks, or months, the 25 degree F temperature will be a warmer temp and we will go to the dog park once we are conditioned.

Every year....semis going too fast and spin out on this pass. Last night some people were stuck for 7 hours. Good reminder to keep supplies in your car

Yes, it is a good idea to have some basic supplies in our cars just in case stuff happens. I do need to be better prepared for winter.
I recently put some Kind bars in my glove box. I do keep remnants of heavy fleece (Polar fleece) from the fabric store in the car. I use them on colder days at the dog park. If my bench at the park is wet, one piece of fleece goes down first, and if it is cold, I have another one for my lap. Water is turned off in the parks this time of year, so I am keeping more jugs of water in the car as well. I just have to be careful about it freezing.

First snowfall yesterday, but then the windstorm came overnight and blew it all off.
Now its sunny and 35 degrees.
@LadyLocust how was the wind where you guys are? Saw it reached up to 68 mph. Yikes.
Gusts to 85 last night. Our canopy over our sitting area is mangled! Haven’t even cleaned it up yet since it’s still blowing about 50ish mph. 😕

HURRICANE LISA will move into the gulf!! Will it hit LOUISIANA??😃 Is someone (you know who you are) starting to have cravings??
Well, Lisa was officially declared "dead" at 10AM today:cry:.
I wonder what the appropriate amount of grieving time is☹️.
gaah

The wind really picked up this afternoon. Almost couldn't get my boat across the lake, thought it was going to get swamped.
Did you trap anything?
Wind was crazy here. Thought we were going to get another snowfall but the storm passed just south of us.

Oh crazy. It was pretty windy here, we thought we left that behind us darnit! Heard a lot of folks lost power.

Just over the divide in central montana so our weather does what it wants to with no regard to what the weather man says.
Froze the chicken water the past few days (time to rig up a heated waterer) today was forecast for 70MPH winds and it did blow....it's nice to have a 8 foot deer fence around my area, I can find things after they get plastered against the fence.
Just closed up the chicken house at 9PM and it is cold with no wind and a light snow falling.

I put out some beaver, otter and mink sets, but with the rain and melting snow the water came up a couple feet. Everything flooded out.
Oh bummer. Stayed sunny here all day, today is overcast, 29 degrees right now.
Having coffee and getting ready for another day of homestead work.

It's only about 20 degs and sunny here this morning. It'll be several more days before the water freezes up down in the valley so I'm taking advantage of open water trapping.
I'm building a lean-to roof on the chicken coop for the wife. She wants to have a snow free area for her girls to hang out in.
