A tornado warning, and then a big 'nothing-sandwich' :( gaah.
Well that was yesterday, notice I corrected my quote.
Between 1am-6am this morning, 3.83" of rain.
The neighbor has a lake in their backyard.

I wish we'd get that much rain here, we can always use it in the high desert. The 20% chance of rain in today's forecast has been pushed forward to Sunday, and it still may not materialize. Haven't had a good steady rain here in weeks, which sucks, but I'm keeping all the trees alive by watering... all except the one tree that died over the winter, but I think it had 'pine borer' or 'bark beetle' trouble, as some bark is missing on the trunk and the exposed wood has some cracks & odd holes in it. Meh, it'll eventually be firewood, and get burned in the stone campfire ring out front, saving me the trouble of buying firewood anytime soon. I'll cut it down when I get around to it, I still have some wood to burn in the yard.

Started the day with a light rain. Now we have a Gale from the S.E. and torrents coming down. Same on schedule or tomorrow. The water tank should be full so showers and laundry to make room or what is coming down.

Gorgeous day here, perhaps the nicest so far this spring... meant to go riding today, but did not sleep well last night due to the cats being AWOL. Luckily, they are all safe & sound, but the riding will have to wait, I don't wanna ride when I'm still feeling tired... it's a safety issue. So I'm gonna hang out at the ol' hacienda, enjoy the fine weather, and maybe have a few beers later... get some seeds started too, I've been meaning to do that now that the freezing nights seem to be over and done. I actually slept with windows open the past few nights, so hopefully I will see no more ice in the birdbaths. 😒

Another beautiful day, forecast high of 87* F, I just spent a couple hours watering & puttering around the yard... very nice out there! At one point, I started to feel the heat under direct sun, but I stepped into some shade and felt a deliciously cool breeze... it was perfect! I like moments like that in the yard, lol. I also removed some nasty thorn brush, the kind I'm trying to get rid of permanently. No sign of any goatheads yet, though I've been picking up the burrs all winter with my tennies & flip-flops... all of 'em went into the trash. I really did a number on those nasty things during my 'Goathead Wars' last year, I am SO GLAD there are none in sight (yet) this year! And good riddance! Goatheads... ugh. 😒

Maybe these temps will be over your way by tomorrow... sure is nice, sitting in front of the fan with a cold beer, lol. I have the windows open at each end of the house, but if it gets too hot indoors later I will "test" my A/C system and knock down the temp. Worked fine last time I used it, even that stupid mercury switch is working better, lol... dunno if that's tied in with the cooling system, I think it's just for the heating side. When I run the cooling system, I just turn it off when the temp is down where I want it. Somebody wired the controls together, even though my cooling system is electric and the heater or central furnace is natural gas (but with electric controls). Meh, each side works, that's all I care about, lol... 😒

P.S. Hot & spicy homemade chicken burritos later, those will boost the temp, might need that A/C, lol...

76 here right now and forecast to be a little warmer tomorrow. Blue skies, nice breeze...perfect!

We had sunshine this morning, then light rain showers for a couple of hours, and since then has been blowing and gusting. I would not want to try to keep an umbrella opened correctly in this wind. The tree tops are blowing around a good bit.

Not weather in my area, but Fort Lauderdale got greedy and sucked up 26" in one day .

Got up to do a 7:30 pickup of a dog to go to the dog park, but it is raining. She does not like rain. If we get a break in the rain, I can take her later, after Bible study this morning. I see that we have rain off and on today so we may not get to go to the park at all today.
