finally cooling off here in the montana rockies...I was changing oil in the honda pilot and the 0-20 synthetic oil that I had stored in the unheated shed needed to be warmed in a sink full of hot water to flow thru the only funnel I found that would reach to the filler hole. At least there wasn't any mud in the driveway when I was squirming around underneath trying to get the drain plug out and the filter changed...

Above freezing and raining today, the down to around 0F monday and tuesday
Last winter there were tornadoes in the Dallas area, power went out. Because of the tornado damage, many suburbs turned their natural gas off..... that's what powers the whole house generators in town!
The cold front is here, 38° now, this is it for the day. North wind. Cold weather advisory starting tonight for dangerous wind chills!! No precip until Monday night!

They will also run on propane. A couple hundred pound bottles should last quite awhile.

Partly cloudy here with temps in the low teens. Supposed to start getting colder tonight for the next week or so. This time of year we should be in the single didgets or colder.
No snow is expected until the end of the month. We need the snow bad, but I am taking advantage of this nice weather and getting a lot of work done outside.

yes a cool winters day, pretty much the same here now , except it won't get as cold at night, so far a pretty decent winter.
40* here now. Very windy!

Our cold front is not fully here yet. It is only 11 degrees now. It is supposed to get down to 2 degrees before tonight and -7 tomorrow. It has stopped snowing. I'm house sitting so I don't have a ruler or yardstick with me to measure actual snow depth, but it appears to be 2 inches deep at the most. The predictions was 4 to 8 inches.
The snow is not heavy. It is snow in cold temps. It is snow when it is warmer that is heavy. 32 degree snow is heavier.
We will get a second front tomorrow!
