Clear and cold. Depending on what thermometer I look at it could be 6 degs, 20 degs or even 26 degs. Our weather station is located on the hill above the house. It's usually warmer up there than here at the house. Cold air sinks, so it's usually colder as we drop down in elevation, to a point. Weather in the mountains change a lot in just a few feet.

We're on the edge of this monstrosity!

Microclimates! I have many thermometers. The woods is always warmer in the winter, cooler in the summer. We are in a valley, always a 10° or more cooler than town!

Hope @Magpie is able to check in soon and that otherwise everything isn’t too bad of a mess at home.
Hello folks- power back yesterday.
Lost it last Friday when the storm hit; also no cell service/wifi etc. All good, no damage to the house, a few trees down at the entrance to the woods next door, and my polytunnel, which is fine because it was to be recovered, and I would have cried if we'd spent the money and then lost it. Still people without power and water though, although I feel local council and service workers were really on the ball, the roads were cleared so quickly.
Hope everyone is well xx

Great to hear from you!! Hope the power comes on soon for everyone!

At an early 7am for me it is 32F, predicted to be high 30s-low40sF through the weekend.. Average barometer, light east breeze, +10F wind chill.. I guess this is our ...January thaw... Cold front predicted for next week..

...Ground Hog... day coming up Feb 2nd, big pot luck dinner scheduled here at the ...Wrinkle Ranch... for the Super Bowl game.. Will make beanie-weenies for that.. Won't stay for the game, just the dinner.. Of the few guys in the building I'm about the only one that thinks US foot ball is a waste of oxygen..

Had thunderstorms last night. Power blinked out right in the middle of cooking dinner. Fortunately it came back on right away, but I had to turn the cooktop back on.
