16 Daughter is making Julia Childs Potato and onion soup. We got her cool book from the library yesterday. We love watching her old TV episodes on YouTube
I love Julia, she made simple great food! She was intriguing to watch. Jaque Pepin was a big fan of her, he is awesome too!!

Here’s a treat, fried apple pie. Stopped at a bbq joint/gas station out in the boonies today. I saw the pies and asked… the lady who makes them used to work at a cousin’s bbq joint (he passed away and the joint closed)

Anyway, she makes great fried apple pies. It’s tonight's dessert after my pizza. Thought I’d post in case someone hasn’t heard of them. It’s sort of like a calzone, except with apple filling and fried. Hey, it’s the south, we fry everything.

I'm looking at the rest of the chicken, tomorrow is crab stuffing in a light chicken gravy with seared mixed vegetables and rolls, maybe cherry juice spiked sweet tea.
