I love a good pot pie. But the crust and gravy messes with husbands blood sugar, so we don't have it often.
Tonight is bratwurst, mac and cheese, salad and fruit
I hate dumplings. But you go ahead. Sparingly on the gravy and heavy on veggies and turkey in our pot pie. I think we have it once a year, right after Thanksgiving.
Today I think for dinner I'm having a headache.
I used the last of the spiral ham slices and made bean soup with ribbles/rivels( you can use either word lol). Made some homemade bread in the bread machine to soak up the juices. NUM!!
We got home from our village's Christmas light parade and bonfire/Santa thing, and were cold and hungry. I had made a crockpot full of turkey, potato, corn soup. The soup and a tortilla hit the spot.
leftovers:
pizza
macaroni and stewed tomatoes
green beans with small red potato
last piece of smoked salmon cooked on grill yesterday.
Pizza hits the trash Monday.
Still have half left, thank goodness only got medium size.
Will be taking bread sticks making them into croutons and freezing them for later meal.
Starting fresh Sunday except for the pizza.
Thinking stuffed mushrooms sauteed in rosemary compound butter.
Small steak with baked sweet potato for Sunday.
Our vegetarian daughters will be over, so I'll be making winter stew. It's a pasta and bean thing. Easy to make with food storage. Also roasting those two whole chickens I got for 47 cents a lb. A bowl of mixed berries, and some olive oil seared asparagus and yellow squash.
I'm thawing out some chicken thighs. I'll marinate them and then bake them. I have some stove top stuffing to use up and I'll steam some california blend veggies to go with them.
