What Are You Having For Dinner

Well, just finished prepping and assembling dinner for the oven!

Took me about 2 hours total ... of course I WAS sipping Jack Daniels the whole way, but this is a really lengthy recipe involving a number of items, which all have to be chopped and mixed, and cooked in a precise sequence.

But it's worth it. Pic when done baking (50 minutes).

I SHOULD be trashed, as I'm on my 3rd Whiskey ... I'm not.

Made a big salad, fried up a batch of wings. Had a fudge brownie for dessert.

I was given a 6 pack of Weihenstephaner’s Hefe Weissbier the other day and decided to go full on Deutsch for dinner. Grilled ring sausage, buttered spaetzle, sauerkraut and gurkinsalat (cucumber salad). Of course I will skip the soda for the beer!

We'll be eating my chicken/rice dish for a few days.

I'm going to have to pare down the dishes I cook, to a more appropriate size for just the two of us.

Last night was sloppy mince and mash with veg. I cooked a chicken also used a bit for lunches, made stock and will probably use up the rest in a curry tonight.

Last night was requested chili beans with meat, cornbread, spinach salad. I'll do hamburgers tonight...not sure how many for dinner. Could be just five.

The last of my Salisbury steak casserole that I had frozen. That is so good even after freezing!

Charcuterie! A tradition in the lady's home the night before T-day. 4 kinds of thin sliced meats, 4 kinds of sliced cheese, 4 kinds of fancy crackers, olives, pickles, smoked almonds, pistachios, red grapes, blackberries, apricots, and wine. I also picked up beer because I can't seem to get on board with all this wine drinking.
