Mel brooks said "it's good to be king". I say "it would be good to be rich". If I had the resources I would build a self sustaining community. I don't care about a hi end luxury bunker, but would like a secure community where everyone worked as a whole, including medical, trades, energy generation, etc. something out in the middle of nowhere, as self sustaining as possible.

Those who have wealth and influence regardless of religion or culture can see the writing on the wall and are moving into secure off grid gated communities for self preservation. It is expanding though the exact number are unknown since most people relocating aren't advertising, it's not like living in an compound, these folks are all in the open mixed in with the life long local folks. My kids have friends that relocated in those parts though not part of any organized group and they are finding that to be with the case of most of the folks they run into, no militants least not openly, they pretty much their for there neighbors in time of need, pretty much standard rural living though better equipped.

I'm suprised at how many are starting to consider that being prepared isn't crazy anymore. Lots are doing it out of fear and uncertainty, which is fine. (Hey, whatever makes them come over to the dark side is fine) . I just saw it as common sense. I like the idea of having clean water to drink, food to eat, and a way to keep others from stealing what I've worked hard for.

I personally think nuburu is crap. There are plenty of things to be wary of in the world today, nukes, rampant crime, the grid going down for a prolonged period, pandemic, etc. we don't need to make more stuff up to worry about.
Btw, one thing I'm starting to see is a real problem with crime. With cops being villanized for justified shootings, it's only so long before they stop doing their jobs. Who would want to go into law enforcement today?
