The POINT is that, for those not prepared for the length of "time" needed. They have intentionally set themselves up for "Self-termination".

When I ferry an aircraft from lower-48 to Alaska. I have to have enough fuel too across vast stretches of roadless wilderness. Or God will call me home for being unprepared.

It somewhat depends on your belief system doesn't it. Your own head can tell you things are sooooo bad and yet someone else might shrug the situation off and merely ask the world, next?
I am old so there is a lot of dieing going on in my demographic with cancer, alzheimers and various neuromuscular diseases.
My wife worked at several small hospitals in the wilds of montana and it was sad the folks that suicided with drugs, alcohol and motor vehicles.
Just don't screw your body up badly and then survive, much better to walk away from the stress and live under a bridge then take ibuprophen and kill your kidneys.
After TEOTWAWKI things might be different than now. Personally if I had compound fractures of both legs and there wasn't high level medical facilities and unlimited antibiotics available i would choose to say goodbye and end my life. There would be a point where service to others would be my best course.

It appears that many are 100% sure that they have zero interest in "Surviving" any inconvenience, more than a few weeks or a few months, or a few years.

Frankly, your question lacks clarity. EVERYBODY here has an interest in surviving AT LEAST a few weeks, a few months or a few years.

You seem to have decided anything less than whatever time period you have chosen, yet not defined, is not worth doing, in your opinion.

Once again, you reference a fixed journey, yet fail to define one in your original question, or in your "clarification"

Even though I would not want to live in a terrible post-apocalypse world, I would not "self-terminate". I will die when I die, but not of my own hand. Think of all the other people you would horrifically traumatize by taking this path. It's about the cruelest thing you could ever do to your family.

If my wife dies before me...I'll just stop doing anything...lay around and die of loneliness.

If we both live to see SHTF , then we will both most likely die sooner or later from old age or natural health problems.

Neither one of us have any desire to live without the other.
55 years of living together does that to you.

I agree and disagree.

I do not expect The Princess will pass before me but if she did I would be greatly diminished. Even so I would have to accept that there is something I need to do?
