What's everybody doing today?

Yesterday was lawn mowing day and our neighbour also asked DH to mow hers as well and paid him $20, we told her that was too much but she insisted. When DH mowed the front yard I was traversing with the lawn clippings and putting them around the trees in the front yard and out the back around the outhouse putting the clippings around the jasmine vines. I then put on a load of washing, hung it on the clothes line to dry and brought it back in.

We then moved onto repairing the shed door that wouldn't shut due to the fact the ground had swelled breaking concrete from the previous owners running the water from the gutters and the grey water into the sullage pit. DH took off the door and the screws he just pulled out with his hands which is why the door was sagging partly. He then trimmed some off the bottom of the door and retrofitted it around the pipe coming out of the door with the reciprocal saw. I found some paint we had left over and painted around where the hinges were where there was no paint and painted the bottom of the door too to keep the wet out of the timber. DH put the same hinges back on with longer and the right amount of screws and it opens and shuts a treat now.

In the evening we washed up all the dishes and put them away and folded up 2 loads of clean washing and put it away and I swept some of the kitchen and lounge room.

This morning we started off with using some dirt from our neighbours property that she isn't using to fill in the holes in the dirt driveway and compacted it with our levelling tool we invented and had made, sort of a hoe but wider with a higher blade. We then went to the shed where I noticed plasterboard broken in pieces beside the back shed so I broke that up and put it in a garbage bag along with other bits I found in the lean to and put it in the garbage bin.

We then got the trailer and filled it up with all the kindling and stacked it on tin in the lean to on tin we were given. We now think this will be the best place to stock our firewood as it will stay dry being closed on one side. Once stacked we will get a better idea if we have enough firewood for the coming winter.

Now just sitting and relaxing for the afternoon.

Getting ready for work. Hopefully I won't have to work late again. Stayed up too late talking to mom on the phone and overslept a bit. Hopefully it's a normal day and I can shop the store specials this afternoon.

When it warms up I will be back to digging and covering pile. Pulled lots of vines off fence and out of pile yesterday. Need a couple trees cut down that has gotten big and shading the pile.
Got lots more sun on pile though yesterday buy cutting large branches and vines off the fence that was scratching me and tangling up in my hair.
I get depressed with all the crap going on and it helps to get busy so thank God I'm able.
I always remind myself " work with all your might, because there is plenty of rest in the ground where your going" .Of course pay attention to the ' might ' part so I don't rush it up,lol.
Remember to stop and see if you are still able to breath. Easy does it.

Making the 60 mile drive to the cardiologist. I stayed up way to late Last night and am exhausted. Thank goodness my sister had a Drs apt a few miles from the kids Dr, she's driving.

Whole house vacuumed.
Ground chuck laid out to thaw maybe spaghetti and meatballs for supper.
Sorted out change jar, scooped out quarters for laundry.
Got in chest freezer to fill up refrig freezer.
It's now fully stocked again. Yeah!
My oldest son said it looks alittle bit lean mom in refrig/freezer.
Told him I would take care of it and did this morning.
Updated chest freezer list so when I make out next month's big grocery list it will be on there too.
Did a quick inventory of canned goods, just need a few there too.
Already started new grocery list.
Sorting the laundry, might do a load this afternoon.
Got a dab of dishes to do.

Got my patterns for Fun on the Farm.
Finished the sewing room this morning.
Already pulling fabrics for my first block.
House did get vacuumed.
Furniture did get dusted.
Curtains did get opened so the light can come through.
Laundry did get sorted.

Got home from work and I have a bunch of housework staring at me. Also need to unload the 9 trays of cooked kidney beans I dehydrated. And put more in.

I did nothing today. Was misting rain all afternoon.

Night before last I realized I needed a tube of “Wood Filler” to make the backdoor lock’s strike plate a bit more robust. I need new weather seal for the front door jamb. So, I went to town for a few groceries and hardware goodies.

After putting on the weather strip I realized I need to move the strike plate a little bit, good thing I had plenty of wood filler.

Any who, both doors are done, fully functional. Whoops just remembered… I bought a high-profile aluminum threshold to go under the front door. I had to trim the bottom of the door when I put down the new flooring. The old threshold isn't tall enough. I’ve been using an old towel to keep out the cold. Guess the doors aren’t quite done…

Today I placed a big order with the big internet shopping store, almost $700. I needed lots of things, more like an every 2-year shopping trip. I needed a new multimeter, clothes, a couple items for the kitchen, a bamboo steamer for one. My old one was falling apart, purchased in 1990.

Last week I spent $375 for new front tires on my truck…

I guess I could say Christmas was a few days late this year.

Did a little cooking today. Made a ham and potato casserole for DH, Baked bbq chicken for me, hard boiled eggs for me and made brown rice for the pups. Other than that, had Bible Study tonight and watched a little TV.

I like this Dr. He listened and answered questions. He laughed when I told him how the last Dr reacted when I quiestioned him. That kept him chuckling the whole visit. He was surprised when I told him that both of the other cardiologists said a resting heart rate over 200 was nothing to worry about.


He said it sounds like 3 things. Neurocardiogenic syncope, Supraventricular Tachycardia or less likely, POTS (her original diagnosis).

We go in on the 16th to talk to the Dr that does the tilt table test to get her set up with that. Then we go in in the 18th to get a heart monitor. He said its not the holter monitor our Dr has been asking for but its a patch that she wears for a longer time, until March 1st, that uses Wi-Fi to send the info to him.

I think the pup we got for the kid is going to work out great. She came running into the living room whining and yelping. When I got up to check on her she ran back to the bathroom. The kid had passed out and fallen down. Maybe its just a fluke but I'm hopeful.

She usually falls on her mastiff but he doesn't really fit into her bathroom very well so she doesn't take him in there. He was sitting outside the door waiting like always.

@Terri9630 it sounds promising that the new doctor knows what he is talking about and is testing her further to narrow down what your daughter has. Once they have a definite diagnosis they can deal with the problem. It sounds like the pup is doing well just keep watching the pup and see if it reacts the same way each time your daughter has an episode.

Today was moving the larger logs of firewood off the dirt floor in the shed around the back in the lean to and all up it was around 3 cubic metres of firewood but will measure the pile to make sure and do a firewood stocktake to see if we need to cut more. Usually we go through around 4 cubic metres per winter. Then we decided to fill in the mammoth dog holes in there by chipping the soil using our pick, hoe and filling the holes using our shovels and clearing the dirt from around a double wooden door that wouldn't open. We then levelled it all off with our levelling tool. A little more to do next week but now DH can put the ride on in there along with the trailer in the 3 bay shed and we will have more room for other equipment as well that won't fit in other sheds here.

DH after a bit of a break then finished picking up the grass he mowed next door with the ride on and put it in a pile so our neighbour can use it for mulch for her gardens. While he was doing that he noticed we had an outdoor plumbing leak in the back yard and we dug that up and found which joint it was leaking from and turned off the mains water. While DH was doing that he found another pipe that is leaking out in the front yard. We will dig that one up tomorrow to find out what is wrong there too. Fortunately we are mostly running on tank water here so turning off the mains doesn't affect us too much until we sort out the plumbing problems. We will try and undo them and see if they have been repaired properly as the joiner at the back looks to be new so we think they haven't cleaned the pipe or cut it flush to fit into the fitting.

The joys of owning a new already established home is finding all the little jobs that need doing and fix them . One job at a time and we will get it all done.

Eye Doctor Appointment. My last appointment was ten years ago. Noticed the right eye was a bit fuzzy. Doc said my eyes were healthy, prescription for left eye changed a little, right eye quite a bit. Cataracts are starting to form on both eyes, 15 to 20 years they will have to be dealt with. Doctor thought sunglasses should become a habit.

When I had ask the wife if she wanted to pick out the frames this time she said without any hesitation, "YES". Tells me she didn't like the frames I had. She decided she would meet me at the Doctor's office. She was half hour late (habit of being late is in her blood). Sunglasses frames she had no interest in so I choose them in a few minutes. Left just before closing time. So in 2 to 3 weeks I'll have new frames and a new look. Ha Ha

Just work. More laundry to do, and still need to box Christmas decorations. Have dehydrator filled again with cooked kidney beans. Need to cook brown rice and put in the dehydrator before it goes bad.

Hard work Sewing, but on the bright side a shovel is one of the best exercises there is. It uses every muscle in the body from top of head to bottom of feet.
