Cleaning out our big shed. Taking a break. The crazy lady a few doors down came by to ask if she can put her political sign in our yard. She was wearing a Red #NewMexit shirt. Red because she's a republican. Her dogs got out again today and they're trained to attack. Other neighbor was livid. I pointed to her shirt and told her we were exiting.

Came within minutes of destroying our stimulus check, because it isn't a check, like the tax-refund check.
I saw another worthless debit-card offer from some nameless bank in an envelope.
Was digging for the scissors to cut it up.
The only thing that saved it, was my wife and I have always had separate finances, and it had both our legal names on it.
We are only listed together on tax returns, nothing else.

Kudos to the government because you can only withdraw $1,000 per day from it. No easy way to stash it in a CD :( .
They want you to go out and stimulate

.
Fortunately, I have an app for that called "The Mrs."

Just a heads-up to any others that refuse to give the govt the keys to their checking account with direct-deposit of tax refunds.
(Yes, that can flow both ways, just ask your bank)

Don't cut up your stimulus card!!!gaah

Got to go to the VA unexpectedly today.
You know that feeling; you don't feel bad, but you just don't feel good.
Blood count dropped, blood pressure dropped, sugar dropped.
So I'm home tonight, reading reports, sipping coffee.
But they got blood pressure and sugar back up where they're supposed to be.
Seemed like they took lots of blood out of me.
Lab guy just laughed, said "nah, only 15 tubes" so far.
As for the sugar dropping, my bad.
Thought I was supposed to do 72 hour fast.
Nope, it was 8 hour fast.
Won't do that again anytime soon.
So got home, was going to rest like Doctor said.
Nope, another message about the reports I'm reading.
Dang.
So instead of going back to reading reports in stuffy office, I'm reading them at home.
Instead responded to second and third messages instead.
Place I get my CSA boxes had extra food, come and get it.
They were holding it for me. So logical me went and got it.
My refrigerator is stuffed full.
And my chest freezer is pretty full too.
With the exception of the trip to the VA, all in all pretty good day.
Jim, glad you're home.
Now I will read reports, nap in recliner or both.
Supper's over, don't give rat's behind about the dishes.
Tomorrow's another day.

Wife scared two ***** up a tree. She took pictures and then came and told me. She has a hate for *****, they can kill cats and will eat their food too. I had a deal with the neighbor's dogs. They keep the ***** away from my chickens and the dogs can eat all the cat food they can. Haven't seen the dogs for a few weeks, suspect wife talked to the neighbor's about keeping their dogs home. Anyway I spotted the ***** as they were climbing down the tree. I recycled them both.

I have now been a "Senior Living" resident for 3 weeks and 2 days. Got my mom moved to the Memory Care facility last Friday. That was the most terrible day of my life. Very heartbreaking. Since then, I have remained in quarantine in her vacated Independent Living apartment, packing up all her stuff. I don't have in-and-out privileges while I pack, so I've been stuck here. Packing up someones life, with only yourself doing it, is pretty tough. It's taking a lot longer than I expected. Especially since I spend a good four hours each day on the phone and doing email to coordinate my moms care and take care of paperwork and other things. Quite brutal. I am hoping to get out of here in a few more days.

In the meantime, I am pondering such mysteries as, "Why does a 90 year old women need 50+ handbags, 2/3 of them never used still with the tags on them?" And, "How is it possible to store 5 tons of clothing in a closet 6' by 8'?" Furthermore, "Why would someone need 4 coffeemakers in their apartment?" And why would someone write, "Save this receipt for David to file" and put it on the top of the filling cabinet ... for a bank deposit slip dated June 1951? I do not think I will ever solve these mysteries.

Can I come too?
I can't think of anything I'd rather do than hang out with you guys again. It's been a few years now, and I really miss you.

To folks here on the forum who haven't gotten to meet these two guys yet, you're in for a real treat when you do! They are pure gold friends.

@Haertig Good to see folks stand up and do right even when its hard. Too few do whats right these days... I'm experiencing many of the same things as you these past few months, hasn't been easy.

I putzed around the garden for a while this afternoon, watched a whole lot of tv. Took a old clothes hanger and made up a couple of hooks so dad can hang things his wheel chair. Not much going on here.

I could make it sing Superano! :lil guy:

Oh, Haertig, I don't envy you at all. You pretty much described my mom's apartment at the Mennonite Manor. She has tested medium in the dementia spectrum, so not there yet. She saves papers everywhere. When we moved her from California to New Mexico 3 yrs ago, we moved a hutch with a few drawers of papers. I sat down to go through them, and mixed in with grocery flyers two years passed was an original bearer stock certificate. We sold it for her, and it was worth $118K. I am saving all this boxes from this move for us. I know it'll be sooner than later when I'll need them to box up her stuff. But don't know what I'll do with any of it.
Electrician came today and replaced three under the kitchen counter lights. Fixed an outlet a freezer was plugged in to.

I feel for you, I had to do the same thing after my Mom passed. I have 2 sisters. one was very helpful. the other is a thief drug addict . who made it very hard.
we had a huge garage sale and sold a lot of stuff. The sister no help. asked me what we made on the garage sale. As she figured a 1/3rd of the profits were hers. I handed her a $5.00 dollar bill and told here I sold everything for $15.00 LOL she called me a liar. I asked if she was there? she said no. I said ''exactly my point'' and walked off

Now I'm on two isolations, one from the rest of the world and the other from politics.
So ya;; will just have to find somwody else to tell you whatd going on.:good luck::green man:

Who am I going to argue with ?
This new development is not acceptable LOL

Today wife and I are going to go crusin in the Vette. We are going to see the couple that I bought the Vette from last January.
Wife is wanting a kitten , and he has one.
When I bought the car , he knocked off $200 because the cruise control didn't work . He said it was working last time he drove it. I almost didn't buy it because of that.
I drive by cruise.

So I told him if it was a cheap fix I'd give him back the $200.
I took me 3 minutes to repair a vacuum line.
So....I'm gonna give him back the $200.
That will be a good surprise ...$200 kitten ;)

We just want to have a fun day.
Hope we can find some place open for lunch.

It's an hour drive to his house.

Y'all have a great Saturday and think about our military past hero's over the weekend.

Jim
