What's everybody doing today?

Taking time off from work this week to try and get projects done. Today I cut up a couple of pallets for kindling, and spent most of the day wielding a shovel. Finished running the tracer wire so I could backfill the gas line excavation. Finally, no big hole next to my foundation! So far I've managed to backfill about a third of the trench. I can go a lot longer now that it's not hot outside, working for hours instead of minutes, but my old shoulder calls a halt before the sun goes down.
Seems I take two steps back for every one forward, it's been a few days of small disasters. Brother came to install new disconnect for the minisplit but forgot to bring wire, so it didn't get done. Putting up new curtain rods, decide to throw curtains in washer while doing so. Washer fill valve malfunctions and floods the room, which is currently just OSB because I'm remodeling. Hems gave way on the curtains so many, many long unraveling threads wrapped around the agitator. Part missing on new curtain rods, try to talk to seller but I can only return for refund. Amazon won't allow any other options. It's on the wall, not going to take it back down! Garage door opener went insane, stops, backs up, goes down, won't go down, won't go up. It's psycho. My woodstove has one of those catalytic converters you have to slide into place when the temp is right. The gasket on that came loose again and stuck it halfway, so had to let the fire go out and the stove cool to deal with that. Haven't had any deer when I'm out there looking for them with my shotgun, but every time I walk the dog some big does run through.
Think I'll go to bed early tonight.

Just got home from town a few minutes ago. We had a large herd of elk just inside our lower gate. Couldn't tell for sure how many, maybe 30 or 40 head, but saw lots of horns.

Rehab yesterday. Today took with to ortho Dr. Gave her a shot in the hip. She's looking at a replacement at some point.
Got back home and spent the rest of the day and a good part of tonight loading stuff in the truck and camper. Headin to bed

Almost forgot, was getting stuff outta the basement and got my feet tangled up and feel. My cheek hit a 5 gallon bucket with lid on it. My hip/leg hit something too. Hell of a headache and hip is killing me. I'll be black and blue tomorrow.

Starting to come round from whatever bug that was going around the forum yesterday went to a different county town to pick up some bits for hampers. Need to get a handle on Christmas presents this week: I've random things got so need to just check if I've forgotten anyone, and wrap so I can leave in my Dads for my nieces and nephews to collect. Three teenage birthdays next week, I've resorted to gift cards for them.
@Bacpacker I hope your'e ok- best wishes to all still with the flu also.

My garage door does that sometimes. Usually when I'm in a hurry to go somewhere. Found out it's usually the wind blowing an errant spiderweb in front of the sensor.

I'm off two days!! Was not going anywhere, but I saw Tractor Supply has Bear's dry dog food for $10 off! As soon as I feed Buddy, Bear and I are going to Tractor Supply!! Have some house cleaning to do and get the kitchen ready for cooking tomorrow! I'll make an apple pie today, made a cherry vanilla cream cheese pie yesterday! No one is coming and we don't need all that sweet stuff, but I can freeze half of the cream cheese pie!

The wife of the friend who died just drove out, on her way to her sil's house in Plano. She's thinking about a six hr drive, and she'll stay there awhile and then they'll follow her driving back to New Mexico to deal with some things. Feel so bad for her. And for my husband, it was his best friend.
Cooking to start today. Was counting on youngest daughter helping with some specialty dishes, but she's been keeping to herself since our friend died, she didn't really know him at all, but last night she said she was going back to Tucson today. Doesn't want to be here anymore. Too traumatic. Surprised me, though, she works in a hospital. So that leaves daughter and the new boyfriend here. And my two local cousins will come for dinner. Got some sleep last night, enjoying coffee, and we'll see what today brings. I need to get husband to the bigger town around noon for a picc line bandage change.

Terribly traumatic, but at least your husband got to see his friend one last time!! Wish your youngest would stay, it would probably help your husband in his time of mourning!!

So Bear and I did our Black Friday shopping, lol!! Back from TSC, got dog food and birdseed! Annie cat is ready for me to fill the feeders so she can play with the little birdies!! Heading outside to start Buddy's water trough draining so I can clean it. Coming in while that's draining to do some cleaning and laundry. See y'all shortly when I need a break!!

@Heartbroken , that's a lot of things to go wrong in a short time! I pray your next month goes smoother!

Back to 4.5 hours sleep last night.
Will walk in a few minutes.
Walk dogs.
Take friend local shopping.
Fry up some home canned potatoes with onions and bell peppers and the clearance steaks-very thin.
Make a grape salad and pumpkin crunch dessert.

Glad you get to stay home @Pearl ! Try not to over fill your days and I will try, too!

Took the pups on a walk in my fields..dreamed if my tiny home estate here..what gorgeous views today!
Im surrounded By scenery of gentle hills n valleys leading up to snowy tree filled mountains. Huge domed soft blue sky above dotted with a few lazy white clouds.
Golden sunshine warms the frozen ground as I crunch my way around the average. The pups are making steamy piles of poo n bounding about gleefully.
Even my two goats came out to save me from my dangerous jaunt to the upper field. Trying to will me back to the safety of the barn..they meet me..enjoy a quick scratch as I reassure them I'm fine. They both lowered their heads sideways at the pups..warning them to not murder the mother of goats as they turn around n goat sprint back to the barn..
It's a funny sight watching two old goats get spunky on a run..
I need to ready myself for a afternoon of wage slavery, submitting my time and energy towards a pursuit of greenback semi-glory as it unfortunately downward spirals into a abyss of everincreasing worthlessness..I toil onward.
But I fear not for the future lack of purchase of my coin..because my faith in better tomorrows renders in my heart n soul..

So daughter and the boyfriend got the youngest to the airport, an hr away and back. I've still yet to start the cooking, but will very soon. Took husband to his appt, and was called five minutes away cancelling it, because the nurse was sick. Rescheduled till Monday. Low air in the tires of the truck, so stopped for that. Hopefully things will start to get normal, or somewhat again. Friend's wife texted when she was halfway to her destination, so her trip is ok so far.

At 1pm (1300hrs) it is dark, dark high overcast 20/10F predicted through most of next week.. No snow predicted until a week from this Friday, and this ..Black Friday.. predicted to be 5/0F.. NOT going out for that.

Will bake and debone the turkey today, so tomorrow will be easier to make green bean casserole, and mashed potatoes.. Have whole cranberry sauce and croissants to make turkey sandwiches with.. Maybe not the most traditional, but easier on me..

Coffee and banana for breakfast, so looking forward to turkey sandwich later today..

Every Wednesday is basically the same day for me. The only difference this week is I bought some pumpkin muffins for the cleaning crew and have two turkey breasts thawing in water. I am still not used to sitting her watching women clean as I play on my smartphone.

Went grocery shopping before noon.

Came home, put everything away, and then started prepping breakfast for tomorrow.

I'm making hash brown breakfast cups. They are sooooo good for breakfast. Made them many times. Hash browns, Gruyere & Cheddar cheese, 3 color bell pepper, red onion, garlic, spinach, bacon, scrambled eggs.

So I chopped up all the ingredients today. Tomorrow morning I'll make the hash brown cups, and cook all the ingredients.

Then I'll start the turkey dinner.

My Irishman and both of my sons are ticked.
Seems I need charge my phone a little bit oftener than I do.
Normally I just let the battery get almost to dead and then plug it in.
It's normally in one room and I am working around the place.
Trying to stay busy while he's not here.
My phone had an update.
Now there's no sound, weird ringtones,no messages etc.
Probably had a seizure when holding the phone so it's all screwed up.
My Irishman called both of my sons in two different areas and counties of Missouri.
Here they come, both of them, youngest from near the Iowa border and the other across the Missouri river in the next county over.
Me I got got the stereo blaring with rock music, knee deep in noodles, bread.
Phone's plugged in, supposed to be charging.
Nope it's dead.
So I use oldest son's phone to call my Irishman to let him know what's going on.
Youngest son moves charging cord to different outlet, sets up phone.
It's now charging.
Now I get reminders from my Irishman and both sons to charge my d*** phone.
Ain't life fun.
