Miserable day outside, temp in the 40’s, 80% humidity, heavy overcast. It’s like breathing ice water from the fridge, chills from the inside out. Only went out for an hour to feed/water the critters then dashed back inside.

Spent the rest of the day pulling electrical cable though a cinder block wall, a royal pain. Finally sat down a bit ago to watch a ballgame. Looks like I’ll see the 2nd half.

My family get together is tomorrow so I’m pan frying burgers tonight.

Went to an all-you-can-eat buffet with great turkey, ham, dressing and the rest of the standard Thanksgiving stuff. It was great and well with the $25. Then went to a bar/restaurant that also had good ol' fashion turkey and all the other stuff.

Don't anyone tell my doctor about all the fat and cholesterol I consumed today! ;):)

The tryptophan hit the lady hard and she fell asleep on the sofa soon after our guests left. Now she's up but I suspect she will be in bed sooner rather than later. Which will make two of us. Thanksgiving is a lot of work for a 20-30 minute competition to eat way more than you need too. Plus it's like a bonus night's sleep as neither of us has anything going on tomorrow, not even spa day because it's closed.

Thanksgiving did not go according to plan. My Mom came down sick on Monday; I went to see her and take soup and stuff and she was really out of it. Turns out she has covid. Thankfully she's doing better today, that's scary at her age. Brother is keeping an eye on her. Either the vid or something else has got me, I've been sick since yesterday.
Weak and shaky, it's been all I can do to take the dog out and bring in firewood a stick or two at a time. Not eating anything. So just me and the dog sitting here watching football. It's snowing now and I didn't get all of the outside work done that I needed to complete.
Daughter has to work, which is a blessing in disguise, she wasn't here to get exposed to the crud.
Sometime next week we'll get together for a visit and a meal.

Hope you feel better soon!! Glad your dog is there for company! Hope you sleep well tonight!!

A quiet half day today managed to get bottom part of the back yard cut with intentions of finishing the rest tomorrow however since we've got more muggy weather and another 5-15 mms of rain it seems unlikely so will probably end up doing it on Wednesday next week

Still no sign of Blood Alcohol certificate in the mail and its been 3 weeks and 4 days of which is getting frustrating for both myself and my insurer since the third party have already gotten their end of claim sorted with quotes to repair dented rear chassis to condition it was in prior to incident which has pretty much satisfied the uninsured gentleman

At this stage its likely I'll have the reconditioned set of wheels week after next or week before Christmas rush starts which in a sense is a good thing due to vehicle lined up for me has to get a new power steering pump put into it as the 2nd hand one my car dealer had installed whilst it did run alright was very noisy of which neither him or his co-worker isn't too happy about as he now has to pay for a brand new pump that costs more than a reconditioned one

I'm thankful that mum has allowed me to use her little Nissan Micra for work and weekend away next week I've managed to come up with a radio setup to compensate for lack of UHF radio using a simple helical antenna on a magnetic base attached to 2 different antenna fittings of which will be screwed into the handheld antenna plug and a speaker microphone to amplify sound

Glad you have a car to use!! How frustrating waiting for that whole thing to be done!!

It is very frustrating Pearl as RAA is striving to have me back mobile before Christmas rush but because Forensics SA is in Adelaide and Australia Post isn't exactly known for delivering mail to rural South Australia within 3 days the whole process is being drawn out longer at least the third party has walked away satisfied so don't need to worry about that

Sad early morning for us. Our guests that came in from New Mexico, they come in often to visit...the man worked for my husband for many years and they've always been close. He had a heart attack in the early morning hours, wife doing CPR. No good. He passed. The house was crazy with EMT's, Coroner, and the mortuary came and picked him up. We are all so sad. She's finally resting now, will shower, then I'll take her to the mortuary. He'll be cremated, and he wanted his ashes spread some in the Virginia mountains where he lived, and some in the New Mexico mountains where they've lived for a while now. They were leaving for TX this morning to have Thanksgiving with his sister. I'm sure his wife will stay on with us till the ashes are ready, then she's planning to drive to TX and her and the sister will do the arrangements with the family for spreading the ashes. The first EMT here went sprinting in here, thinking it was my husband, running to the back of the house. One daughter arrived here last night, another will be arriving with her boyfriend in a couple of hours.
🙏
