Here's the little trailer that we take grocery shopping with us when we go down south. It's a 200+ mile round trip so we pack it full when we go. I had a custom made tarp to cover it so things don't blow out on the road. Its in the shop right now to replace the trailer plug.
Nothing major today, just a couple little projects this afternoon. Some painting for the laundry rm, made a base for a little bench grinder. Got rice going for dinner, watch some tv later.

Should have the roof on the new blacksmith shop tomorrow. I ordered the siding today. Ouch. It's was over $40 per each 1×12×12 rough sawn fir boards. Once the roof is on I'll start on phase 2 of the building by adding a 10×16 foot extension on the east side.

Even though we had Christmas with the grandkids on Thanksgiving, we're still picking up a few more things for them. Today I ordered several 1 pound bars of .999 copper and some 1 ounce silver bison rounds. I'm hoping to keep their interest in precious metal investing. We also paid off our daughters co-op bill today. It was only a few hundred $$ but it will help them out some.
About 4:00am Wednesday morning, I remember coughing twice and feeling like I pulled a muscle.
As the day wore on, it got far worse ... really painful. So I went to the local ER in the afternoon and was there from 3:00-8:30! What a fiasco. Left with a prescription for painkiller as well as lidocaine patches, and a prescription for a very mild UTI. HUH???
Today I had chemo, so now I feel completely awful!!!!
But this pulled muscle thing is a big mystery, and hurts like hell.

I got the last of the packages mailed today- yay! So think I mentioned a while back that my bro broke his leg. He’s doing alright- healing. Middle niece got bucked off a horse yesterday and ended up in ER with a concussion and swollen eye and bumps and bruises. She’s doing a little better today and keeping food down, icing her eye and swelling is going down. Oldest niece had knee surgery today (scheduled) and is doing well. I’m thinking my SIL needs wine
right about now.
It snowed today- might still be but it’s dark. Wasn’t sticking
. Hoping to go skiing again Saturday then get a tree Sunday.

Just heard the dog breaking clay pots on my porch. Went out to see what the heck was going on! 
The pup had a big boar possum trapped in the hedges. Can’t see how big he was in the pic. His head was small, the rest of him was huge!
He was growling too, never heard a possum growl like that before. Hiss yes, not growl, he sounded like an old tom cat growling. I had to check to make sure there wasn’t one of those in the hedge too!
Well, I can report mr. possum won’t be growling anymore. Maybe the pup can calm down now. And I can price new clay pots, 3 got broken.

Yet another regular work day! Drizzly day, so I think I'll mess around in the kitchen later! I've gone through my closet lately, but it needs to be organized better. Hopefully I'll work on that today!!

We were married on the 13th, so we considered it lucky. Husband's got a doc appt I need to get him to this afternoon, and then I think he wants a flu shot. Christmas cards (still) to do, wrapping to do. Same warming up the house like you are, Sonya, and animal chores
I am officially on vacation until January 7th. I go back to work on the 8th in Indio, California so I'll be buying a flight and rental car shortly. Next year's schedules are out and my gang works near the Salton Sea, then near Phoenix, and goes to Vaughn, New Mexico before coming back to the Midwest in April. Hopefully after the first of the year I can transfer to a gang that's closer to home. We will see.
But for now, my plan is to drink coffee, eat homemade food, go shoot some guns, take lots of naps, and spend time with GF and my daughter over the next 3 weeks. I've been burned out at work, and I needed the break...

Got up, worked out, cleaned up and have just been spending time with the lady and her daughter who recently suffered the loss of a family member. She elected to skip spa day so we are just staying close to home. We had plans for tonight but those are off now as well.

Last night I rewired the lights on the little trailer. I'll hook it up to the Jeep later and see if all the lights work. I need to repair the recoil starter on my small (8750 watt) generator this morning. I'm using it at the new building for power. The electric start quit working on it about a year after I bought it.
Yet tweaking the new PC, my K drive just blew up and I have no idea what was on it. Solid-state drives can't be recovered I hear, so whatever it was is gone! Now I have to figure out which one it is!
I spent the last two days taking my daughter to the doctor in Columbia. We had to detour bridges that last month's flood had washed out. We stay prepared because some stores in town, like Walmart and CVS, are still closed, so we have fewer stores to shop in. We did some shopping in Columbia. We went to the meat house. When it started to rain, we hurried back home because the water level was still high.

I might ought to start my Christmas shopping sometime soon.

Dishes and quick clean up of house before picking kids up. Took care of all the animals, chickens don't seem too stoked about all the rain we've been having but they ARE tilling the patch of garden I moved them to last weekend. I got the elder syrup I'm making strained off and added lemon juice, I'm going to have to add the sugar and turn it into syrup and can it after the kids get back because I don't have the time before I leave. And, I'm almost through the mountain of laundry that's accumulated but I do have to find more empty hangers to finish putting it all away.

Too busy the last couple of days!
Made 70 banana breads, yesterday/ 38 loaf size and 32 small ones. Then went to a Church lady Christmas party.
Today, took Bo for a 3 year rabies shot.
Went to lunch with a friend.
Delivered as many banana breads as I could.
Glad to be home!

Things breaking down and learning curves, seems to be my life anymore.
Turns out what broke in the woodstove was a baffle; I'd had no idea it was there and doesn't have any guards to protect it from logs. Found a new one online and figured out how to replace it which is good because it broke over a week ago and the stove guy just finally made it out today to check it out, and there would be even more time gone before he orders in a replacement. And I need my wood heat! I really don't like the way the catalytic converter is set up, the gasket on the sled came out again. He's looking into any warranty issues if we just leave the gasket off. Definitely a poor design. But other than that, I'm happy with how warm it keeps the house.
Ever so slowly I'm replacing the garage door opener. Got the old one taken down, and today I got the chain and rail of the new one put together and mounted at the door, but it doesn't quite fit the old brackets for the power head, so I'll have to go to town tomorrow and find something to make the transition.
Woke up the other day wondering why there was such a draft in the hallway; found the front door standing wide open and snow drifting into the kitchen. I've had trouble with the door randomly blowing open when the wind is strong. The new door has been standing in my garage waiting for my brother to get it installed for about 3 months. Finally put a long screw into the wall and tied the doorknob to it. At least now if it pops loose, it won't open. Thankful my dog didn't see a squirrel and take off into the snowstorm.
Hope I get past this long covid at some point; it's been three weeks and I'm still dragging my tail feathers. My mom finally managed to walk out to the mailbox and back, but then slept the whole next day.
Had fieldwork up to the northern lower this week; about three hours from home. Thankfully no weather issues for the drive but I was exhausted by the time I got home.
And I've about burned up the wood I had cached up at the house so this weekend I have to make it priority to bring up more from back by the shed. Hope there's enough ready to keep me going for a while; not sure how soon I'll be strong enough to run the splitter again. May have to break down and have a load delivered so all I have to do is stack it.

Turns out we are short two bundles of roofing shingles to finish the new building. I ordered some more today but it'll take a week to arrive. I'll start the framing tomorrow. The siding should be delivered in about 2 weeks.
Had a gym date with GF, then she made jambalaya and I did the dishes. We played with Ruby the Lab a bit and now we're watching Christmas Vacation. There's supposed to be an ice storm tonight so tomorrow will be a slow lazy day...
