Husband had his regular doc appt today and it wasn't terribly busy over there...actually a handicapped parking spot and a wheelchair available. Those little things make life easier. Got some gifts wrapped, little granddaughter's trying to snoop. Favorite cousin called and is leaving on the early morning train to Indiana. Her granddaughter is joining the church on Sunday, and her son in law's brother died, so there's a funeral there on Tuesday. She's going to be tired when she gets back. It'll be on the day of the amish school's Christmas program. I told her I'd pick her up if she needs it. Pup likes to warm himself by the wood burning stove, especially his backside. Heard a yelp, and he got too close to it; he'll learn.

animal care, still doing some goat hoofs, getting some small starter wood indoors before the next rain ( small sticks we put in a barrel ) , had a hard time starting the stove this morning because the starter wood was not dry enough.
Cooking , I should probably do something else constructive but can't think of anything. It's still cold, supposed to get ice storm tonight.

Slept later than usual. Still in my jammies puttering around drinking my coffee. We need to get dressed soon and go down and visit with Dad. Checked with him on the phone, he had a little bit of a rough night with the pain.

Gotta do some food shopping. I need to do some food prep and make some ready to eat meals for me. I can’t keep eating what he’s eating – all soft foods.

If I’m really ambitious, I’m gonna try and put up a Christmas tree today. Or at least this weekend.

And I just looked at the thermometer. It’s 18° out BRRH!

Dropped daughter no2 to bus, shes gone away for a few days. Went for breakfast with eldest son and a Christmas food market, which was lovely. Bought a few items for gift baskets, and a selection of local goats cheese to try. Its raining now, so just doing inside chores and some sewing up of knitting.

I just want to say I was not posting cuz I did hurt my shoulder
so very bad earlier this week..still pain but at least I can write now
I try to be positive on my case :)

All that because I lift too heavy things and I always want to do things too fast
and by myself
Next time ..I will slow down for my sake...and ask if I need help lol

Had to go Dr driving the car steering wheel with my left hand only
my right side was hurting way too much

Dr told me its *shoulder impingement* from lifting too heavy weight
*yeah right I know*

So ...time will heal ..pain still there so Celebrex just once a day and Tylenol arthritis
when I need it with lots of water and therapy exercices 2x a day

I had so much trouble to sleep because of the pain
But my best friend *hairdryer* did help me a lot with the heat on and off

If it get worst it will be Cortisone injections in shoulder

I was trying to find a happy Good morning song
Here Good Morning guys !

Had the strangest dream just before I woke this morning. I got a job driving a machine like an old fashioned corn picker in a field. Except I wasn’t picking corn, I was picking chickens that grew in rows. Only took me a few minutes to redesign the machine so it worked better. Then for some reason people started shooting at me. Then my bosses kept sending me to different departments in a chicken factory to redesign all their machines. A lot of people got laid off and they started shooting at me too. Then I was driving home late at night, waiting for a lady in Mercury Marquis to turn right. Suddenly she jumped out of the car, only she wasn’t walking, she was driving a tiny kid’s peddle car. She opened the passenger door of my truck and attacked my ashtray. Even though it was midnight a young couple was playing with their little kids in their yard by my truck at the corner. They were freaking out about the lady in the peddle car.

Then I had an epiphany in my dream that applied to the real world. My electrical project has been on hold the last couple of days. All the literature and websites tell me I should wire a combo switch/receptacle using 2, 14/2 electrical cables. Something has been bugging me about that circuit so I’ve been procrastinating. I’ve been painting an old cupboard and straightening up my tool room instead of wiring that combo.

In my dream it came to me… instead of 2, 14/2 cables I can wire it using 1, 14/3 cable. Two wires will carry power from the junction box to the combo switch/receptacle. The 3rd wire will carry the switch on/off signal back to the junction box, then use a 14/2 cable to the light fixture. I only have to pull one cable down a cinder block wall instead of 2 cables.

Then I woke up, strange dream.

Thursday Dawn and I finished our finals at the JuCo; her drawing class, my physics class. Never again! They conveniently forgot to tell me that the class requires the calculus which I absolutely despise. For the spring semester, we both signed up for a woodworking class, which should be a lot more fun and probably a better value.

Anyway, I celebrated by coming down with a ghod-awful case of the flu and am now sitting in front of my computer surrounded by used Kleenex and some chamomile tea. Meanwhile, She Who Must Be Obeyed is out getting the fixin's for the baking of cookies and other sweets for the Yule holidays.

Our Yulefest will be a brisket with pureed parsnips, other roasted root veggies on the side, some TBD green veggies, with a bowl of wassail -- both with aquavit (ice-cold vodka, actually) and without (kid-friendly). Baked apples for dessert!

This year, I believe the Solstice comes on the 22nd, which is a special time for both of us: It's our anniversary-day (33rd) and my birthday (80th).

Leofue freondes, wæs hael! Blessed be to all of you!

Congratulations on your anniversary and happy birthday in advance!! Get well quickly!!!

Stopped by the Christian book store and found a used Halley's Bible Handbook for 5 bucks. I've had that in my Amazon cart for a while. Very old book that many use as reference material. Also went to Academy sports , planned to get some ammo, but checkout was across the store, so crowded so just left.
Got back home and moving some stuff around, fed the birds. Now smoking a nice cigar and relaxin on the porch

In Pennsylvania, maybe You could get one by Christmas if They will Ship it to You through the Border...

Animal chores, inside chores...bedding changing, laundry, wrapped a few gifts that arrived. Now to clean the kitchen and really, really work on those Christmas cards. Don't know why I'm procrastinating so much, really. Watched two episodes of Boston Legal with husband, one of his favorite shows that I find obnoxious, but we watched during lunchtime. He's on the computer ordering last min gifts for our kids...one that's coming with his gf, two daughters that are not coming out which was a surprise to him. He's not happy.

Another day of mostly rest. This morning I touched up the cupboard, a few spots needed more polyurethane. It was dry by late afternoon so I mounted it on the wall above the washing machine. That was a royal pain! It only weighed about 20lbs but I was working by myself. I mounted it 56 inches above the floor. Had to use all my imagination to get it that high on the wall and hold it level. Then sink a big wood screw in each corner. It’s not perfectly level but the bubble was between the lines. It’s about and 1/8inch high on the left side. I can’t see the difference but can when I measure it. I called that job done, close enough for storing laundry detergent.

Finally got the phone number of a lady who took care of my grandmother before she died, 5+ years. Everyone in the family loved her, she was a great care taker. She already knows my parents well. They thought the world of her.

I need someone to come in every day for my parents this time last year. Light cooking, cleaning, keeping things organized. The lady was working elsewhere so my niece volunteered for the job. Last summer my niece became a grandma. She can’t do both jobs, sitting full time for toddlers is a job by itself.

Mom’s still at the physical therapy clinic, will be for a couple weeks but dad needs help now… Anyway, I called the lady up, she isn’t caring for anyone right now and looking for another job. She was thrilled I called! Gonna come over next week so we can work out the details. A big relief!

No plans but tv tonight.
