debating on what is less work , look for and put on snow chains, or chip ice and snow off the rest of the road ,....I think the snow chains will be the lesser evil

so we might go to town today to pick up my prescription and do some shopping. I don't really need anything except some more milk and some fresh veggies but maybe we can pick up another load of wood too

animal care first of course, plus I might put that 20 lb turkey in the oven which will take a while

I like the Winters here in Vegas! It's the Summers that mess with me. I stay in during the day, period! This is a shot of a tourist that went sunbathing.

This snow needs to melt here!!
But it might today. Today and tomorrow I think we hit 40 this afternoon, or close to it anyway, in the sunshine. Then this weekend, it's right back to it with 0 degrees. Ugh. So getting any errands ran the next couple of days. After lunch today will be going into the bigger town for feed, pharmacy pickup, and Dollar Tree. Husband might be going so three places is max for him, waiting in the truck. I'll save Aldi for tomorrow.

I forgot to update:
Dh's appt. yesterday went well. It seems he listens to this woman where he wouldn't do what the other doc said. He has to start using his percussion vest and doing an extra nebulizer sodium chloride. I'm just happy that he is willing to do what she asks! Found the vest yesterday, but not the machine that runs it. At 2 am, I woke up and knew where it was. (That's God) working through me! I love it!

well, we are not moving to Thailand....looked at the weather there and it is even hotter than Florida in August now. No thanks! I might hate winter here but I hated summer in Florida more
Thinking about adding a propane heater to the house. The constant worry about running out of wood is annoying and the work involved with feeding 2 stoves for an entire month all day is going to be too much if son has a job and no time to help.

Glad to hear it! Husband does the vest, too and the sodium chloride once a day. Sometimes the vest twice a day with regular medicine in it. He uses a Valara air compression machine daily, too (forced air in and out) but sometimes that causes him to spit blood, so he'll stop for a week. The vest seems great to help cough up gunk. I get you with the finding of the equipment....Our bedroom and his office mostly looks like a hospital room at this point, there's so much med junk to keep track of. But it's better than being in the hospital, for sure.

Reminding me...a break in the weather today and tomorrow (above freezing anyway) so it's time to haul firewood. We have firewood, it's just not on the porch. Needs to be wagoned quite a ways. Wish we had a second stove on the other side of the house.

We go through a lot of firewood here. We started our first fire in August. We normally burn 24/7 from October through April and then just at night until May usually. When I built this house I put in a propane furnace and a heat pump, for emergency heat and AC. We normally use the AC for 5 or 6 days a year.

Thankfully you husband is listening to this doctor!! Hopefully it helps him a lot!!🙏

Still no voice. Congested terribly. Taking a decongestant and an expectorant.
Have to make muffins for hubby's breakfast. Blueberry and blackberry mixed.
Gotta figure out something for supper
Waiting on some ove gloves from amazon to see how they work instead of the oven mits which are a pain getting on and off

Dad is sitting the couch watching his racing videos on YouTube with Heidi curled up next to him. Visiting nurse will be here later this morning to check his tube and teach me how to administer his meds. I’ve already given him two feedings and all went well. When the nurse is here I want her to give up some further instruction on working with his swallowing.

Going for a Sinus CT scan at 1130 and a funeral at 1300 hours. Friends didn't even know she was pregnant. He took her to the hospital for stomach pain and found out it was a baby. The baby was delivered and died a few hours later. I can see where that is very devastating. It's interesting that they didn't know she was pregnant.

Today, or for the rest of the day... I'm relaxing at home with a few things on my to-do-list after my job interview this morning.

It was, as stated, an informal interview with some scripted questions. And, just another step in the hiring process. I'm pretty sure I provided good answers, they made notes. I also asked some good questions. Hiring manager commented about that on my way out. The shop manager was all straight-faced and serious. That guy never smiled once, all the others did. They have others to interview. I's told two weeks max before I hear about a decision. But then if they proceed with considering me there'll be a background check and drug test. Both no problem for me. The HR lady will be sending some detailed info about the job and benefits.

Crossing all my fingers for you.
It is a good job for me. It's like I've already been there and done that and even liked it. Wouldn't be all roses and sunshine thou. There'd be work in the field in adverse weather conditions and plenty of challenges. There's also a rotation for on-call hours beyond the normal 1st shift hours.

Watering all of my plants very well today, more than usual. Sometimes I put them in the sink and totally soak them, but I have some big pots and that is not always so easy.

I'm packing up to head out to a house sitting job, and when that one ends, the next one begins. And the same, when that one ends, another begins, and then one more. Four house sitting jobs back to back. Then a week's break and another house sitting job. I will be gone for about a month, but will be in the neighborhood to take a couple dogs to the dog park, Monday through Friday. I can stop at home, check mail, and do a round of watering in about a week when I am close by. I will take several freezer meals with me, and then I can also grab some more when I drop home in a few days.

We are supposed to get below zero over the weekend. My car got a new battery this past summer, so I hope I have no challenges with that in the cold.
