Off Today! Need to shovel so the nurse can see the wife this afternoon. I over extended my left elbow on Saturday and now I'm having to improvise to get things done. I will need to prep for tomorrow mornings meetings, things kick off at 05:30 EST, so I want to be prepared. Tomorrow, I will be teleworking, can't make it down to the office in time to make the first meeting, it ends at 10:00. There is another meeting at 10 where the management will announce my job change. Heck of a note, teleworking on my first day in a new position, nice thing is I can skip that 3+ hour round trip commute.

I hope to be able to watch at least part of the festivities with Trump taking office. I am hopeful but nervously awaiting to see what happens when his team actually takes command. Sometimes that friendly fire can bite you in the end.

it's 8 degrees out just checked, and the stove stayed on overnight , I fed it around 11 ( sorry Pearl, I went right back to bed, no checking internet LOL) and husband got up early to feed it. Just started the kitchen one, and water is heating for the animals. We still have very low pressure but at least it is still flowing
So today trying to keep the animals alive, feeding and watering them in a little bit here. We are not even going to try to start the stupid Ranger, but will use the truck to move the water. If it doesn't start, we have a new battery ( the old one is still in it and has been starting)
so then it definitely should

I will keep an eye on the news and hope Inauguration will go without problems

The pup did the quickest go outside to potty I've seen. Snow today possibly and tomorrow, about 7 out right now, and going into the negatives tonight. But the fire is started already, had to clean out the woodburner first this morning. Will watch the swearing in, will survive outside chores, and will probably make cookies.

I am thinking I might bake something today too! Not sure what yet

It's a good baking day. I think husband wants another loaf of bread baked in the breadmaker powered by the solar generator in his office, so maybe 9 grain there. I've been thinking about chocolate chip cookies ever since you mentioned them last week. I still haven't finished that closet upstairs, that room is still a mess, but we'll see.

I am not going to bake bread...if I do we eat it all in a day LOL and my diet stops working
well, unless I bake something as part of the main meal
Would like to bake some sort of cake, I found something called Magic cake I might try, has a lot of eggs in it . I need to use some up we have too many

I made peanut butter cookies yesterday. I had one, Hubby finished almost all of them. I'm going to make some kind of basic cake or cupcakes today!!

Watch the Trump festivities and rethinking all my goals for brass trains. Big reset of priorities. 37f right now to go to 50f. Staying inside as much as possible.

A cake would sound good, too. Post the recipe to magic cake if it turns out good. We have too many eggs, too, so I made frittata for lunch yesterday. I could make some custard but then I'd be eating that, and cookies.
I ended up making a peach cake , will send the recipe if it turns out. The magic cake sounded a little like it might come out a soggy mess, so I didn't try

it was not as cold out as I expected! Sun is shining and no wind

It's 0621 central time, and I'm sitting at my gate waiting to board my flight to Denver. I'll connect to my flight to Phoenix there. In Phoenix I'll play the rental car lottery - What kind of car will I get this week? - and then drive 3.5 hours to Indio, CA. I would've flown to Ontario again, but we're scheduled to finish the Indio project in a few days and then move to the west side of Phoenix, probably on Sunday. So it made more sense to fly into Sky Harbor.

I put my name in on 4 job positions close to home. I'm getting to old for this traveling crap. I'd rather freeze my nuggies off in Iowa all winter, than waste 4 days a month traveling 1500 miles for work. All 4 jobs would be a $2.40/hr pay cut, but it's totally worth it to be near home, or at least close enough that I don't have to get on a plane to get to work...
I don't blame you for wanting to be closer to home. I got tired of traveling and being away from home too. Some of my work hitches were up to 15 months long with no time off and 7 - 12 hour days. Depending on where I was working it could be a total of 24 hours flight time, 24 hours of layovers, plus an 8 hour train ride and 3 hours in a truck to get to the work site. I'm done with all that now. Since I retired the only flight I took was to Hawaii.

Can you put a trickle charger on your Rangers battery to help it start in cold weather? Or put a heat pad under the battery. We use our side by side almost every day of the year.
