We did get the beater truck picked up from repair, so it's back as an extra around here. Took my favorite cousin to cousin Perry's house with his birthday casserole, and I brought him cookies, so he was thrilled with it all. Visited with Perry and his new wife, he turned 86 today. Went back to my favorite cousins and we visited over too much coffee and alot of cookies, it's been awhile. Stopped at the amish grocery on my way home...they got in a ton of red potatoes, selling them for 30 cents a lb, so I got a bunch and will make some red potato salad soon. Our wind was horrible today!

@Amish Heart and everyone else who still has that old Corning ware casserole dish, bowl, or plate…I was researching that brand last week or so out of curiosity and stumbled across a few articles or websites that are all about Corning ware that contains lead in an unacceptable level. So I reckon I’ll be letting a few of my pieces go, have had them for decades and probably not safe for food usage.
@Tommyice so happy to hear your dad’s recovery is doing so well.
@Mountain trapper and @Hooch hope you get to feeling better quickly. You, sir, better take it easy!
@sonya123 sounds like things went sideways in your neck of the woods. Hope all the lambs make it through okay in the coming days.

I got home a bit ago from doing goat maintenance. Vaccinated 4 youngsters and castrated one...there's another buckling that I'd like to castrate that I couldn't catch. If weather holds I'm hoping to go out there and butcher another one tomorrow.

Do we have a Corning Ware lead thread?

I don’t think so.
That's news to me about lead in Corning Ware, but then I don't own or use any so wouldn't have caught my interest. I've read some threads here about cookware, but never read about that. I like my Pyrex Visions stovetop cookware, and for food storage too. I've read lots about those, but never heard about lead in those. A thread about it would be cool.

i do recall us talking about the corningware lead..but not sure if it was in a thread by itself.
@Weedygarden talked about Corning Ware, I think!! I know there was talk of lead!! I remember talking patterns!! Pearl had a good memory!! And OUTSTANDING HEARING!! That doesn't have anything to do with Corning Ware, but my hearing is incredible!!🤔🙄

My hearing is remarkable, too. DH says I can hear a bird fart in the tree across the street! LOL

I'll walk in a bit.
Run to local grocery for sweet potatoes to dehydrate for pups.
Dehydrate the sweet potatoes.
Attend a zoom meeting for VA caregivers.
Walk dogs.

Lab work on old dog turned up high liver counts and low thyroid. Starting her on milk thistle this morning and will get thyroid pills from vet. Eventually, she needs her teeth cleaned.

started really early today because of the weather. Is this horrible weather EVER going to end this winter??? More ice and snow, plus wind warning, and flood warning .
No lambs yet. We got everyone out, cleaned and put everyone back in for now, started pouring just as we got done.
Maybe we should move to New Zealand. They have sheep there too and better weather. Well it certainly can't be any worse than what we have here

We did have a thread about Corning ware. When my internet gets back up, I’ll find it and share the link.

We have next week of horrid, horrid weather. Getting some things ready today. Having little granddaughter restocking large straw beds in the geese coop, and restocking the turkey coops with straw, and Levi is repairing wind tarps on the turkey runs and putting them back up. The wind was brutal yesterday. Not good today, either, we'll see how successfuly he is.

I don't know yet. Maybe work on the road some, it's been a few days since we've been to the mail box. I need to finish clearing the road up to the pump house too, so I can drive up there. It's starting to snow again. It's just a light snow for now. It's supposed to snow steady though Wednesday night, maybe a couple more feet.

I'm not looking forward to more snow..I was hoping we were over that but apparently not. Usually by March around here stuff is thawed mostly ..owell..
Today I will do chores n errands after a pup walk..it's a beautiful sunny day so far but snow later I believe..uggh..
Started a new rug tho! Whew hew!

This morning I took down my flagpole Christmas tree, at 35' it's a handful. I have done a little each year to make it easier to put up and down. This year I was able to put it up with the help of 1 person. I thought a lot about taking it down alone, my solution was to use an old tire and rim as a dead man on the guide wires, it has to slide along as the pole comes down. It actually worked! No problems at all. Was trying to get it done before the rain came in at noon. As I was finishing up it started snowing. I don't mind working in the snow, I don't like getting my head soaked in a 34F rain. Anyway it's done and the wife is happy now.

Snow and ice coming in tonight. Had rain the other day then froze. Our chicken run is all ice. Threw sand down for traction. Test ran both generators incase we have power issues. Brought in firewood. Would rather have all snow on the ground instead of the 3 inches of snow/ice.

Went to a Questions and Answers this morning put on by the Chamber of Commerce. It was to interact with our state senators and reps. I stood in front of the microphone and told them what I've been doing for women veterans and asked them to get the word out at the state capitol. They were receptive to it, just like the mayor and city council when I stood in front of them a few weeks ago.

I knew it was being broadcasted over the local radio and television but someone said it was aired in five states. That's good because I want the word to get out.

so I just got an alert on my phone that we have a flash flood warning and do not go anywhere, and watch out for rockslides that will cover you up if you are in the mountains ( we are) ...ok then. Looking up info of how to move to Portugal, supposed to be a cheap place to retire and easy to get visa
Son went out earlier to get his new phone switched over, glad he got back before the flash flood and landslides
what next, earthquake?
No lambs yet, just walked to the barn in the pouring rain with Otto, he did have to go out and is now soaking wet.
Binge watched all but the last episode of the last season of Cobra Kai
got nothing else accomplished today
