Hubby and I are so romantic 💘 The toilet seat in the bathroom he usually uses was broken and spurred “special words” so I bought him a new one yesterday. I had said I could use the push mower for a while (rider was gonzo). So he mowed the back lawn with it (before he would let me). Yesterday he ordered a zero turn.
Ah sweet love 😍😂
So romantic.

Well after nearly 30 hours we finally have power I rung the local CFS regional HQ in Naracoorte chased up on letter of previous employment (volunteering) to hand to Queensland Uni as final piece of information before I can progress to getting financial assistance for my course, after Monday late PM/Tuesday early AM chaotic lightning storm and prolonged power blackout doing a graduate certificate in emergency and disaster management definitely seems like a good investment

We just have crazy wind. At least it's drying up the mud. Dog decided today a good place to be is on the dining room table. He's tried it three times. If he does it again, he's getting zapped.
Do you spray him with a squirt bottle? Some dogs are not phased by it, but for some dogs, just holding up the bottle like you are going to spray works. Even setting the squirt bottle in places where they want to be works. Crosby the ridgeback would hang out at the dinner table, and even was known to grab a bite of food once in a while. RR do not like water that is in the air, such as rain or snow, or even better being sprayed with a squirt bottle. Just setting a squirt table on the table keeps them back.

Sounds similar to what happened to me this weekend.

I was driving in the dark to go let a dog out. There was something in the road that I didn't see until I couldn't avoid it. It was like a metal speed bump. I ended up with a dented alloy rim. It seemed okay until I was almost home and all of a sudden it wasn't. The tires on this car are strange and this is the second time I've had a flat on this car that I didn't realize until the tire was ruined. These tires have a small reveal when they are on. I've had a few flat tires in my life where I was aware of it before they were destroyed.

It was dark and I didn't want to change it in the dark. I needed to go feed and let the dog out in the morning. I got up early, loosened the lug nuts, jacked the car up, and then removed the lug nuts. The tire was like it was frozen to the hub. I kicked and kicked it and could not loosen it. This is the first time I have had this happen. I finally put the lug nuts back on, finger tightened them, and drove to a service station about a mile away to get help. Because the lug nuts were not tightened by the wrench, and the tire was so ripped up, it loosened up and the wheel broke free so it was ready to be removed. Guy took the wheel off and put on the spare.

I took wheel to the tire shop and they said they would see if a new tire would hold air and put the wheel on the back. After more driving the tire is still working.

I have never liked driving in the dark. I wonder how many other people ended up with damage because of that metal speed bump looking thing? It was gone the next morning. Mechanic told me he has had a few incidents with stuff in the road that caused damage to his vehicles.
The "accepted" way to loosen a stuck rim from the hub is to hold a block of wood to the rim, and hit it as hard as you can with the biggest hammer you can swing. I've never had a wood block or a big hammer when I've had a stuck rim, so I just sit on the ground and ram the soles of my feet into the lower part of the rim as hard as I can...

I kicked hard with my heel. I kicked it several times. I've never experienced this before. I am getting ready to build a potting bench with some old fence posts, and I can put a piece of a post along with a big hammer in my trunk.

I haven't tried that, but just holding the remote control to the collar will make him stop. I haven't ever zapped him, but use the beep as the call button and the vibrate when he's in big trouble. That's been enough.

This morning... packaging one of my eBay 'proceeds' for delivery. It actually takes a bit to insure safe arrival to it's new owner.

Later today? Might make an in-person hand-off for cash. Yes- "might". Sometimes you never know until the deal is done. There's some 'game players' out there. Newsflash. lol

No lambs, bottle babies good, all the animals we have checked so far good ( haven't been to the little goat boy pasture yet)
Going to feed and water everyone in a minute
Oh , we left them all out ( except the momma sheeps and little ones) last night for the first time since fall. First night not freezing super windy or raining in a very long time . We did leave Ozzy the new puppy in the barn, the goats are still afraid of him and I didn't want them to not be able to go in the barn because they are afraid. But they slept outside anyway.

But no grass growing yet, well a tiny bit but not much. This time of year is hard on the pasture. They want to eat green stuff, but there is very little there so they try to eat what is there and damage what little grass there is. We do of course put hay out there but they want to eat grass
I never did clean the house, but did repot some plants. Now my legs are sore from crouching down. Not fun getting old! That sort of thing would not have bothered me one bit even 10 years ago.
Husband plowed up on of the gardens, other one today . I need to plant my onions and potatoes

Dad’s radiation this morning. It’s day by day now if he gets treatment. One of the incisions opened and is draining. If it doesn’t look infected or inflamed, he gets treatment. Oncologist and surgeon both agreed the treatments are the most important course right now. Surgeon told the oncologist not to worry, he can fix anything. That was comforting.

I’ve got my foot unwrapping this afternoon. Hoping to finally be out of this boot and maybe into my own shoes. Although, from what I can see, my toe is longer than it used to be so shoe shopping maybe in my future.

Later this afternoon I’ll be making pizza for dinner and batch cooking some manicotti for the freezer.

Wonder if your toe will be permanently longer, or if the tendons will bring it back to normal? I had a bad toe break many years ago (horse stepped on it), took over 6 months for it to get back to normal (kinda normal)!

Interesting avatar @Spikedriver !! Just the usual around here today. Going to work, messing with the critters later. Got a 'to do' list going!!
That was down in Punta Gorda, Florida. There's a park there named after the explorer Ponce De Leon, and they had this crappy statue of him there. I was just clowning for my daughter to take pictures...

Today, I plan to till my field in preparation for planting. After preparing the soil, I will apply organic plant fertilizer to enrich it and ensure that my crops receive the necessary nutrients for healthy growth. This method not only helps improve soil quality but also supports sustainable gardening practices. I'm looking forward to seeing the positive effects this will have on my plants as the season progresses.

Sore this morning... working all those calves was a bit more strenuous than I thought. Slept like a rock though. Got to go up to the shop in a bit. Need to soak all the wheel bolts on the tractor and the cultivators with penetrating oil. My new cultivator bolts are supposed to arrive sometime today. Hope it's late afternoon... I'm moving slow this morning.

update: got all the bolts soaked with oil... While I was looking at the tractor I took a moment to get it straight in my head how to set the tractor wheel base width from 57 inches to 72 inches, sort of complicated. I have a final plan now, to stove up to do anything about it but hey, it's a start. 🤣
