Levi and little granddaughter helped with chores...rest of the firewood is now stacked. One room of the milkhouse is now spic and span. Little granddaughter hates beetle larvae under the rabbit cages and hates spiders and cobwebs, so that was a challenge, but we got it all done and will do room number 2 in a couple of days. The chickens love the beetle larvae! Ready for lunch and then to fill a cart at Aldi. The weather warmed up and turned beautiful after our cold morning.

Yesterday was a good day, got the new-to-me generator home. But it was not the 6000 watt unit I expected, it was a 7500 watt unit.. so I'm good with that. Today, I am trying to get ready for the work week, making lunches, doing dishes and laundry. We are having storms moving through the area, so we may lose power. This is the way.... :) thanks @Neb :)

Is that the running watts, or surge watts?

It was cold today but I still took the rigid chopper out for a ride. It was the first time I had rode it in 4 years. I had forgotten how violent it is to ride.

Just finished making a bunch of foot long sandwich planks, meat and cheese. I figured if I lay them out on parchment paper and freeze them, I will be able to heat the meat and cheese and plop them into the dressed (condiments and lettuce) bun. Should make a quick lunch that is much cheaper than subway.
Probably would taste better, too!

I’m getting the spare room so close to being normal, it’s scary. There are still some extras in there, but you can get around and I emptied 2 totes and two big banana boxes. Also, almost have the dining room table claimed again. Might be another day or two for that one. Hubby’s been working on the pantry so just that much closer.

Just got home from my little adventure in the valley. I got stuck a couple times driving out. It's a good thing my Jeep has skid pans underneath and a heavy duty winch bumper up front. Our road is getting washed out where the creek cut through thick ice and has carved a channel in the gravel. It's deep enough that the bottom of the Jeep slammed down on the ice edge and the front bumper hit the other side.
Down under about 4,000 feet it was raining hard. The creeks were over their banks in many places, most pastures and hay fields were under water. I saw several driveways that were washing out and a couple roads were under water too.
Coming back up our road was pretty rough. Its raining here now, but its supposed to change to snow tonight and tomorrow at our elevation, and rain in the valley.

Do you have cloves? Might help the tooth. 🦷

So sad to see all the crazy weather damage and losses. We had thunderstorms and strong winds here, actually slid my 12x20' greenhouse a full 10" to the north. I hadn't finished securing it before winter set in and the drifts were too deep to do anything. It was a frantic and scary time trying to drive stakes in the ground and lash the greenhouse down. The front wall of the larger greenhouse was pushed in about a foot, but I had the north wall secured so it didn't shift the whole thing. Can't imagine how those folks feel that lost everything to the winds, floods, and fires.
So glad the winds finally died down. Wild weather is one of the reasons I hate March. Friday it was 71 degrees and today we have about a half inch of snow on the ground.

I don’t know what state you’re in. Some of us were trying to check up on those in the path. Glad you are safe.

Been quiet around here. Trying to arrange a time to hang out with my best friend at some point but its hard to find time when he's not busy.
Woke up with pain in my upper abdomen and felt slightly nauseous. That lasted a few hours. Now I've got a low grade headache. Might be sinuses.
Went to Samsclub for curbside pickup. Mom asked me to get something from Target. Haven't been in there in years. Looked like the place had been ransacked. Clothes and boxes and random items were strewn all over the floor. Took me awhile to find the right section and get the item she wanted.
Then bro and I stopped at our favorite Chinese place. had to get a big container of soup to go for Mom.
