Over the last few days I watched the Lord of the Rings trilogy and then the Hobbit trilogy. Enjoyed them immensely. This is the first time I watched all of them together.
Welcome to the club!

We do that series every year as a tradition.

For rhe other Tolkien fans that have read The Silmarilian more than once...

The Rings of Power is in production now for Amazon Prime and will be released latter this year.

Additionally...

I recently subscribed to the Youtube channel Nerd of the Rings.

The Princess has declared we will watching all of those videos.

I'm sharing this hotel room with a coworker to save a few bucks. He loves South Park and the TV has been on a South Park marathon for the last two hours.

I'm beginning to think this isn't worth the money I'm saving...
Make a deal that you get to choose what to watch for half of the time and he gets to choose the other half.

I don't watch TV much and I can usually ignore it because I'm doing stuff online, like being on here. I could usually care less what he's watching. But South Park and Family Guy and all of those shows are so ridiculously stupid, and tonight I just can't ignore it. I'm going to try to end the misery by going to sleep...

I think they are pretty bad, but once in a while I see references to something from South Park. I wish I understood the reference, but not enough to watch it!

I watched two movies last night. (The wife was out, so I knocked off two movies that I thought she wouldn't like from our (;)) Netflix List.)

Both were a decent ride. Neither was excellent.

Both movies involved a woman main lead who kicks ass, one as an assassin, and the other as a body guard.

Ava...woman recruited as an assassin wrestles with her life choices. The action is decent, so not a total loss. But, overall, I cannot recommend it, because I really could not sympathize with the flawed main character.

.

Close...woman hired to be a body guard for a shallow rich girl. This one was better...until the final 15 minutes when I felt like the story line becomes a bit...contrived. Nonetheless, the woman in this movie was a much stronger character than the Jessica Chastain character in Ava, so you actually care what happens. If you watch one of these, watch this one.

@Tacitus There was a tv show I saw last year you might like... "Killing Eve". a dark comedy series... as only the Brits can do dark humor.

It's about an insane russian assassin who develops a strange relationship with the other main character "Sandra Oh" (she played cristina on Greys Anatomy). Sandra Oh is a civilian now recruited by MI-6 because of her new relationship. Sandra Oh's new handler is also a female psycho assassin.

Anyway, the show is one of the best I've seen in years, the writing is excellent. It's definitely twisted!

Tonight, cop drama reruns are on 4 channels, guess I'll be flipping channels all evening.

I just checked, the 4th season of Killing Eve is about to start. Like most series they make more sense if you catch the first season.

Today I saw it was on hulu, not sure about netflix. I watch it on AMC, cable tv.

Saturday Night Fever is on TV. I forgot how horrible that piece of crap is. From the bad acting to the godawful disco music to the polyester 70s clothing, I can't deal with it. Thank God for the remote control...
That was one awful movie. Acting =horrible, music= even worse. IMO the disco rage was a major downfall to good music. Much like rap has been

I watched it once, probably in the late 90s, when it was on HBO or one of the other movie channels. I remember it being bad, but not as bad as it was this time. All those dance movies were bad. Urban Cowboy, Staying Alive, ugh...
