What I had originally heard about the movie Take Shelter made me think it was a survivalist movie, not one person’s mental health crisis. About halfway through I decided he was in crisis; having visions and dreams of what was to come. I’m like, I ain’t got time for this. So I did a quick search of what the movie is about and I was right, or was I? Darn it. I didn’t watch the rest of it.

You really need to watch it all.

Much more so than most movies, the "punch line" is in the last 60 seconds or so.

I started watching the most aweful reality tv show on Netflix I have started watching yet..."the Trust" , if THOSE people on that show are the average Americans, I now REALLY want to move to freakin China....
I want those drones to take them all away

the christmas vacation is my favorite christmas movie, haven't watched that in years however, not sure we still have the dvd
Cousin Eddy hahahahah!
I had never seen it before, but watched it a couple days ago. Seeing Johnny Galecki as the son was interesting to me. I like it when I watch an older movie and learn that one of the actors has grown up and changed. If I hadn't done my usual research of who all was acting in the film, I never would have recognized him.

I watched the hobbit movies over the last two days. Even watched the "special features" on each dvd. It was pretty interesting, they did video blogs during pre-, production, and post-. Even showed the cgi guys doing some of the scenes, like the goblin tunnels. Showed wardrobe and make up departments doing the things they do. It was neat to see the drawfs without makeup and getting dressed too.

Thinking I'll watch the LTR trilogy starting tonight.

Couldn’t believe my son in law has never seen A Christmas Story, the one with Ralphie and the leg lamp. Maybe some other time.
Have about 12 episodes of LOST left. Realized that one or two episodes are stealing ideas from Carlos Castenada’s one book after one character handed another one of the books.

that's my other favorite Christmas movie you shoot your eye out LOL

Finished LOST. I definitely binge watched it. I enjoyed it, loved being annoyed by Sawyer in the first season or so, gimme a boo hanky for when things get sad, did not like the way they jumped from ...well, you'd have to watch it. Sometimes it was hard to follow. My son and his wife said they got lost watching it and stopped. ha. haha. Big surprise how it was leaning toward...well you'd have to watch it. @Amish Heart you'd probably like it but I don't know where you stand with having your granddaughter watch make-out scenes in bed. There is some of that once in a while. And a LOT of head bashing, shooting, fist fights. Sorry for the spoiler.
Some conversations and one liners from one episode:
Doesn't sound like he said anything about anything.
That's kinda true, dude. He's worse than Yoda.

All right, y'all head to your heart of the island and I'll go get the magic leprechaun out of that well.

I'd ask you along, but that'd take all the fun out of me telling you you can't come.

This would be so sweet if we weren't all about to die.

We are in the closing phase of our Tolkien series.

Rings of power season 1 and 2
Rankin and Bass Hobbit
Hobbit trilogy
1979 The Lord of the Rings
1980 The Return of the King (with Turkish subtitle)
Fellowship of the Ring Jackson)

Only have The Two Towers and The Return of the King left.

The Princess had never seen the older animated versions. Funny because she thinks she had 8-track tape of the music of one of the movies.

Well we finished the complete Tolkien series with the addition of the newly released

War of the Rohirim

https://www.google.com/search?q=war...us-revc&sourceid=chrome-mobile&ie=UTF-8#ebo=0

It is an animated movie produced by Jackson and crew about Helm Hammerhand, his daughter, and how Helm's deep got its name.

As a Tolkien fan I enjoyed it. Those not familiar with back stories may not get it. Being animated it lacked the splendid visuals of the other Jackson films. It was consistent with the Tolkien world and served as a prequel to The Hobbit.

We will include it in our annual Tolkien fest next year. We finished our extended fest with just 2 nights to spare because "Viva Los Vegas" is our new years eve tradition.
