Waiting impatiently for snail mail to deliver my 5.11 RUSH 72 bag from USA. that's been 10 days now , cmon royal mail.
65 lbs is a lot of weight to haul for a full days hike.
I normally hike with 45/ 50 lbs
The general rule is a pack would weigh no more than 25% of your body weight. 20% is closer to ideal. Too much weight and you run the risk of injury. We do alot of long treks in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area. Often we put on 10-15 miles trips while camping and fishing from 3-5 days. I can say I dont like packs over 50 lbs myself. Just something to think about.
The older I get the heavier those packs are, no matter how much I take out of them!
Now, That is a comprehensive list. I like the look of that a lot.My inventory list has 147 items in my large ALICE pack. Most of it is army gear I have acquired over the years. Below are the highlights:

I'll be quite honest I based my list a lot from bubbadreier, he had great ideas! I still need to pick up some loose ends and I know my bags seem like they are overflowing but thankfully they aren't (well.. maybe my first aid bag) I can post pics here if interested! I pack quite a bit because as a mother I have to make sure all my sons needs are met and that includes him having a functional mom. (also I didn't include my husbands tactical bag because its compact, but heavy do to the amo. Debating on if we should bring it in case of a bug out. )I love the level of preparedness. I appreciate the list, and will use it to become more prepared for my family. Thank you.
wow! We also have a son (he is 7.) Our BOBags look very similar. And yes you should definitely bring all of your husband's weaponry and ammo. Thanks for the photo.!View attachment 922 just so you know I am not fibbing. btw my sleeping bags are being washed, that's why the liners are there XD
they are sexually natured so not for a public audience but they will potentially work.. and reduce risk. (note also though that if the guy thinks there is no resistance or cooperation close in a good hard strike to the adams apple followed by use of a wrist knife may be enough.. There are many factors, krav maga however teaches that you take out your oponent its not about fighting fair it is about removing the threat. That means striking critical points hard and fast. Surpised assaults though can be reduced by chastity belts. There are even "pincer inserts available that attach to the male organ" like a mouse trap of sorts. With injectible knockouts, many are not legal in the us etc.. but really few women probably want to walk around with a pincer devise inserted. A legal version for example might be here http://scinewsblog.blogspot.ca/2010/06/new-rape-prevention-tool-female-condom.html. Carrying around some acid in a bottle is an easy defence also, people with sulfuric acid thrown at them will probably not continue the rape and have other worries. -- its funny you see all those rioting punks throwing molotovs they could probably get more damage dealt bydelivering sulfuric acid. readily available and corrosive as hell. Forget mace, sulfuric acid is legal to carry. However, be mindful that anyone using this method within rule of law may have issues after the attack. Thanks for the ideas William. I hadn't thought of the STI route.
I don't know if I want to hear of the more graphic ideas. I'm kinda squeamish. Let me think on it.
they are sexually natured so not for a public audience but they will potentially work.. and reduce risk.
PS I'm thinking about adding airtight garbage bags to my spring summer/fall in place of a sleeping bag or to supliment the bivy. As they can be used to seal in biomass and also potentially used to float a bag or stuff you don't to get wet if crossing water.
I find this fun. I have been through many bags and enjoy transferring the items since it reminds me what I have and what I need to exchange. Also I get to play around with some of the items.i went into a surpluse store a couple days ago.and bought a back pack..now its a matter of removeing my b.o.b. stuff from my tote bag and transfering it to the pack..i dont look forward to it.but it gotta be done..
