My wife was a single mom with three boys, I was single and trying to dig out from financial ruin due to bad decisions on my part.
We both worked full time day jobs and part time at night delivering Dominoes pizza.

When i noticed her one night at Dominoes, I was instantly smitten.
We just celebrated 35 years of marriage less than two weeks ago.

I love telling this story. I was about 17 and living on Circle K ( mini market) burritos and meaningless relationships. She worked at the mini market. Two birds one stone. 😂

And if you’re a widow or widower, chime in. 😍
So the way back machine says…I met my late husband when I was 15. He became a good friend. Back then it was okay to hang around with older (or younger) people. He was 6 yrs older. We did lots of fun cool stuff.
Eventually I ditched my boyfriend.

During college, I was renting a house with five of my friends. In addition to all of us going to school together, we hunted, hiked, camped, partied, and worked together. Whenever our schedules allowed, we would all meet for lunch at one of the smaller college dining rooms. At one of these lunches, one of my roommates, brought girl with him. Despite our stereotypical male behaviors, she seemed to enjoy the lunch gathering and became a regular attendee. Unfortunately for my friend, she wasn't interested in him. To my astonishment, I was the reason she kept coming back. We had our 30th wedding anniversary this past August.

My wife and I met in a drunk tank. When asked this question my wife cringes and shuts up. She knows how much I enjoy telling the story, and she can’t dispute the statement.

Edit: Drunk tank wasn’t one of the options.

I checked church, but it needs some explanation. I met her in Hsinchu, Taiwan. I was leading a summer mission team there (we were staying in a church) and she was a translator. After I came home, we corresponded by phone and mail for a year. I wrote more letters that year than I have ever written before or after. I went back the next year and spent the summer with her family. I hit it off with her parents right away. Her mother told her she had to marry me because she was too independent and stubborn to marry a Chinese husband, LOL. So we got her parents' blessing, then she came back with me and got a job as a waitress in a Chinese restaurant. I was in grad school at the time. My parents went back to Taiwan with us for the wedding. That was 40 years ago and we're still hitched.

We met at work. I was hired to type for a group of engineers. We had a morning staff meeting where I would take notes, and set out the coffee mugs. Everyone had a coffee mug with their last name on it, and I thought his last name was ridiculous and wanted to see who the mug belonged to. So I've now had that last name for over 41 years. ha.

We met working together on an ambulance.

In 1980, a cocktail waitress that I worked with at a club in Hawaii asked me to join her on one of the evening dancing cruises off of Waikiki beach because she wanted to introduce me to her friend that she thought was perfect for me. I couldn’t stand her friend, but sitting in the corner was this absolutely stunning young lady. My future wife absolutely didn’t want to be there on that cruise, but her parents made her go with them. I was 20 as she was 18. I was instantly in love but it took a good year until she surrendered to my charm. We have been together ever since.

These are great stories! @dademoss you better get back here and tell!!!
It's "Classified" :p Really.

In the dark ages before the internet, you could place a personals ad, and you got a voice mailbox interested people could reply to. I placed an ad, and she replied to it :)
The rest is history, and a rather remarkable "the rest of the story". The rest of the story will have to wait until its not 4 AM, and I have had more coffee :p

35 years later, I couldn't find the clipping, I was going to use it for the lead in.

'Other' I guess
At the age of 13 I used to watch him go past my school on the way to his, from my perch on the radiator before class. We spoke once at a teenage disco; but neither of us did anything as half the county was watching. Years later I returned from abroad and we met up again. He was going to ask me out a few times but saw me with male friends and thought I was dating them, so it took him a while :D
Married 31 years in a few days time :)

Other. I picked my wife up at the Ice Skating Rink, literally. I was playing Hockey at the time, and went to an open skating session. She was a figure skater. I was flying around the outside of the rink, and she was doing turns and spins in the center. She took quite a spill, and was a little dazed, so I helped her up. Found out we both lived in the same apartment complex, and we both went to the same church. We got married about a year later, and have been for 48 years.

When there's a thread about how you meet your last ex and why did you separate - I'll be able to post. And it'll go like this:

Meet her at a bowling ally bar. She was the waitress. I figured she was out of my league, I mean she was a 9. But.... we ended-up living together for few months, at her place. I left her because she was also a 9 on the crazy/hot scale. 😳

Rule #1, never date anyone crazier than yourself.

Do as I say, not as I do.
