I think the last of the 303 SMLE went into the backs of collector's safes decades ago, and the collector price for an unbutchered one is over 600$ and rising. When I was a kid, you could get one in the grease for a hundred bucks.

The only port for US Navy ballistic missile submarines on the entire east coast of the US is Kings Bay, Georgia.
About 50 air miles from our farm.
The only other US post for them is Bremerton, Washington.

I would assume that these two places are very, very high on Russia's target list since just one of these subs can pretty much destroy their country.

At 50 miles distance from the target the blast winds would pretty much flatten Answered Prayers Farm and radiation would do the rest.
But I'm not going to spend tens of thousands of dollars I don't have to have a fallout shelter built underground. Even if i did we probably wouldn't even have time to get in it once the crap hit the fan.

Years ago I put my life into the hands of God. He has saved my life a number of times already, and if He decides that it's my time to die, let His will be done.

edited to add: we have YEARS of food put back, and yes I do have the weaponry and mindset to defend us.

I am 50 miles downwind of about 5 nuclear targets. That is well outside the blast radius. I figure that I have one to three hours to settle in and hunker down. Your winds are usually from the West, so unless you were unlucky and were having a wind from the North, most of the fallout would head out to the ocean.

I got mine for $70 in 1999.

Cool gun, but obsolete ammo. I have a couple boxes just for the hell of it. The gun is mounted to the wall in the back of my above ground root cellar, just in case.

There is an Ishapore Version in 308 and another in 410 slug.

Just came up on my X newsfeed apparently Zelensky has decided to resign in exchange for Ukraine being admitted as a NATO member, I'm fairly sure Staimer and Charlie boy advised him that it was a better alternative!,

Then again this may tick old mate Putin off enough for his forces to attempt another invasion on Ukraine this would result in article 5 being invoked

That is a rumor from weeks ago. Unless it just happened, the story is he said he would BE WILLING to resign in exchange for nato. That is how a real man does it, puts his country above himself.

Do you guys remember CB radios and the ungodly amount of BS that used to clog the airwaves? everything from open mic DJ wannabes to idiot preachers professing that Jesus had come back as a turnip and he was out back in his garden as he spoke? The internet has become a CB radio. IF Ukraine joins NATO we should decry it as loudly as possible and drop out. That might keep the mushrooms in Europe.
