I have made firestarters using dryer lent and wax and neighbor down the road used his sawdust with wax. Use what ya got.
For fire starters, I use fiberboard that protects the wine my wife has shipped. Egg cartons would work too. Works well in the fireplace and in the smoker with oak branch kindling. I have more than enough of that around.
Using lighter fluid in a fireplace or wood stove is a recipe for a chimney fire.

Rolled new paper soaked in wax. Cut into 1/2" sections.
I've got dozens of those rolls in bags stored in the pantry. Each roll will start about 30-40 fires if used efficiently.
Just my opinion , but believe Puttin made a huge mistake sending the Wagner group to Belarus , to attack Poland . The Wagner group has their army in position for the assault and so does NATO in anticipation of Wagners next move . -- Puttin may reconsider and call off the assault on Poland as 10,000 NATO troops await on the Polish side of the boarder . Again just my opinion but believe the Wagner group will be Quickley slaughtered if they go ahead with the plan . Weaponry like the wart hog airplane and other advanced equipment of the like which the Wagner group has never faced await to annihilate them . --- Since the Wagner group has left Ukraine the remaining Russian forces left in Ukraine , have not been fairing well .

Even with wart hog planes and all of our advanced weaponry, we still failed in Afghanistan and ended up surrendering.
Everything Putin does has a plan behind it, the guy always thinks 7 moves ahead while Joe can't even think one move.
I think the uprising of Wagner was a fake to move Wagner to Belarus without any big fuss for the West, what Wagner does and leaves there we will find out.
Fact is, no European army has so far gathered real experience in a war, the Russian and Wagner did that for a year, if it comes to the bang, Europe has drawn the ass card in the first phase anyway, especially because here almost no one from the population expects a big war and negligently underestimates the potential in the East.
Europe has lived the motto "turn weapons into plowshares" for the last 20 years and never needs an army again, 90% of the population has voluntarily given up everything that is weapons, and most armies here have either been abolished or consist only of junk or I-Phone addicted guys fresh out of army basic training who lose against a trained enemy unit before they realize it.
And now the WEF is turning plowshares into... windmills?
But if they're using an idea from the Bible, they should at least know that the "weapons into plowshares" is only in the millennial kingdom. It's not while there is such evil in the world!
I completely agree that the western world is soft and has been at relative peace so long they are ignorant. This is in the US, too.
I know zero young men or women that would serv in the military even if drafted , as all the folks I know would refuse to share a bunk or foxhole with a homosexual . When or if an invasion begins we might fight but not with a government military .
If there is a conflict with Russia I will NOT serve in the army of my country voluntarily.
- First, I never wanted this conflict, but the government of my country provokes with its actions that the conflict can come here.
- Secondly, the government of my country discriminated against me during the Corona period with bans on entry because I didn't want the shot, called people like me freeloaders and threats to public order, and there were dozens of other names for the unvaccinated.
- Third, I can also shoot myself the war against Russia is suicide from my point of view and leads to the same result.
For these reasons I would refuse to fight for my government in the national army, let the government should in the front line against Russia but without me.
I will fight, but I will fight for people who are worth it, and I will fight for those who were senselessly sacrificed by the government's mistakes.
Once a soldier always a soldier, that's how it is, even for me, and in my battle dress there are always a few pictures of other soldiers who have impressed me deeply, it is an invisible bond of a kind of family, and for them I will fight and I look forward to meeting them in a different and better world.

Totally agree. When I joined the Navy I swore an oath to the Constitution of this nation. Never saw an expiration date on it.

When I joined the army 25 years ago, you didn't have to swear by anything anymore, that was a thing of the past back then. At that time our country had a population of 6 million people, of which around 18% were immigrants.
When I was on duty around 2010, our country already had a population of 8 million people, of whom about 40% were immigrants, well today it is 9 million people, of whom 50% are immigrants.
That changes country, people and culture, that was also the case in the army, and wearing an army uniform in your own country became more and more a target of hate and immigrants.
On my last day in the army I turned down a promotion to private, I told my supervisor if he does that I'll deny the promotion in front of everyone and he'll look stupid in front of everyone and I don't care if he puts me in put in jail. A promotion is a good thing, but I considered it a joke that every soldier is promoted to private on the last day of his service, I saw that as disdain for the old army tradition and shows the decay of the whole culture.
I proudly walked out of the barracks as a soldier on the last day of my military service and I knew I did the right thing, I served this country well, but today this is no longer my country and is no longer my army.
I no longer owe anything to a government that no longer serves its own country and its people, to an army that is no longer even prepared for a conflict and back then publicly told us older soldiers in front of everyone that we were just an unnecessary relic of the old Army ones I no longer owe anything to the army and its army culture. If you want to come get me again, I will defend myself with everything I have in my hands.
There are situations where you are willing to fight for your country and people, there is nothing left of either and if you know that you are only cannon fodder for a matted and corrupt government then it is pointless to fight for something.
From my point of view, that makes every oath void that was given to a country that looked different and had other basic values.
The time and what it looks like today determines the "expiry date" of an oath for the reason that it is a personal decision that everyone should make themselves in their life, we have at least done our part, that's the important thing, for our part we stay always soldiers.

Promotion to Private? From what? I didn't know there was anything lower than Private.
But here there is lower, soldier is lower or recruit (beginner) is lower than soldier.
Well, the rank of private is a joke, it's kind of a gift, used to be for good performance, now it's for everyone who has the last day of service.
You get 1 dollar more pay per day and an hour more out and you can help to organize any small exercises, otherwise the rank is worth nothing.
In the past, a maximum of two or three people per unit (around 100 men) in a military camp of 3 weeks were given this rank as a gift, mostly because they had sneaked into their superiors.

When i was need to join the army we still got this kind of swearing on the flag.
As young man i toke it serious.
But it's an kind of deal too between my country and me. And if i'm the only side who fulfills this deal and have to realize the state try to betray me then this deal and swear is worth nothing anymore. Of course they can give me an weapon. But they wear better the fast shoes.
As i said once before, i'll fight yes. But for family, friends and myself only.
When I joined the Army 45 years ago, we swore on the flag, the constitution, the bible and our HONOR to defend to the death. What they are asking the soldiers to defend now-a-days is nothing like back then, has nothing to do with honor, family, country, flag, pride, fortune, freedom or even constitution...kill who they say are the bad guys, make more money for the "OTHER" bad guys at home and die for money, oil, drugs, pedophile creeps and civilians who never wore a uniform and have no idea what war is other than watching a video of a drone 10,000 miles away kill another innocent family just to get a "leader" of the bad guys...NOT IMPRESSED, not impressed.Youngster!

Reportedly Puttin and friend are holding an emergency meeting as it appears Russia is having an economic crisis of its own . I have no idea of its accuracy , but reports are swirling that some Russian Soldiers as well as the Wagner group in Belarus are not getting paid as the rubble dries up . Large manufacturing companies in Russia are also reportedly shutting down as they can not pay their employees . --- If these reports are accurate it could be looked at in two ways -1 Russia will have to give up its military conquest . 2 Russia will try to destroy the NATO countries in a last desperate bid by Nuclear means .
If and when this is the end game for the Russians, then I expect that the rest of NATO will allow the Ukraine to march into Hungary since we did not sanction Putin. And/or, Poland will march into the Ukraine next since they also have an old bone to pick there...Maybe it would be your second pick and Putin will nuke the rest of the European area just to make sure that they cannot march into Russia and take advantage of the nation while it is on its
"financial knees".
The third alternative is what you did not mention...Russia will ROLL ACROSS the Belarus/Poland/German nations as predicted by several prophets/seers many times and do what is being discussed in Moscow even as I write:
""turn the western european continent into a potato and cabbage patch without any industrial capabilities to ever march into or towards MOTHER RUSSIA again""

Russia has Microsoft systems, foreign car industry partly sent into the desert or was disconnected from Europe itself, but now they are pushing domestic products and China products.
The Russian population is accustomed to economic crises and the population there knows what sacrifice means and go through the bottom, for that the government does not fall in the back.
In Germany, very large companies are currently going bankrupt every day, in other EU countries, too, this is reality, hundreds of thousands of jobs have already gone to the dogs in the EU, the US media will not report.
US and EU media also do not report that the Russian arms industry is currently running 24 hours a day, even on Sundays, and that their products are getting better and better. Honestly, I must say that they have better than our army.
I bet the european industry and economic situation is worse then the russian one.
The european countries did really an great job with the sanctions against Russia - i can see it every day. And when someting still is working - no worries, the leaders of the climate panic care about and destroy it too.

It is never too early to load the rifle, it is always wise to keep your sarcasam alive and it is also always good to keep a smile on your face. As a boots on the ground war vet I prefer to face the problem and regardless as to whether I survive or not " to prepare " and if I succumb it will not be because of lack of trying . I can't stop what is likely about to happen , but have prepared for my kids and grandkids to be able to face the apocalypse . --- My first step was to uproot my family quite my job and restart in an area that I saw had the potential to survive not only the blasts but the scared panicked people that survive , In the wrong area , a survivor will find themselves in some serious combat with their starving neighbors . And certainly will not be able to grow a garden as it will be looted during the night likely even before it is ready for harvest .

I don't know if there are any other members on here that like me enjoy watching the Communist nest of New York City blown up , drowned , eating rats and being infected with the bubonic plague , but in case there is posted this enjoyable film .
