I remember pumping gas at those prices.
A common order was, give me $2 of regular and a quart of bulk oil.
The station would run the used oil from oil changes through a series of filters and sell it for 25 cents a quart.
Check the tire pressure, check the oil, wash all of the windows and give them a free glass or 1 piece of dinnerware all for a quarter a gallon.
I don't know how my uncle raised a family with 4 girls on what he made.

I had one.great milage and it was quick.93mph I'm not sure about that. My bil had one with a turbo diesel and he got 50mpg. He was a VW mechanic and could tune them for milage.

I loved my "Steelies", lol
1/2" steel ball bearings dad would bring home from work.
Sold them for a buck a piece back in the late 70's.
Made a "fortune" in middle school.
