That is all we can do is keep on prepping and hope that nothing happens. If it does we will be ready for it.

I try not to read to much into anything, but it is always best to stay prepared for that just in case scenario.

We will though, at least for the next two years. Obama is no match for Putin politically. It's like an untrained civilian fighter vs. a trained assassin (quite literally, as fate may have it). Lets hope for better in 2016.
I think Obama and Putin look like a Rottweiler and a Chihuahua together. Would love to see those two in a ring together now that would be funny.
we cant really call this a proxy war given it is obvious russia is involved, right now putin is exploiting Nato for what it really is, a paper tiger! putin seen this weakness and recently stated that he reserves the right to use tactical nuclear weapons if Nato involves itself in the conflict.
Reason russia is buying gold is that he is moving russia away from the USD completely, he has already warned its citizens to convert all USD holdings in russian's bank within a year or they risk forfeiting the currency to the russian state, he is effectively outlawing the USD being held in russian banks. china will trade in gold! russia and china agreed upon forex derivatives giving russia the chinese yuan to be use in the exchange in other words china is russia's surrogate to the world monetary exchange bypassing the sanctions, russia is loading up on the gold to buy the yuan
so we are back in the cold war,only part2 this time. remember that holding USD in the old USSR era,would easily give you a decade or so in the forced labour camps...

Gentlemen if this CW2 is in fact TRUE and I have no reason to doubt it, then the problem is massively compounded with the fact that
(A) China still like Russia BUT China OWNS much of the debt that the US OWES, that gives CHINA massive leverage;
(B) WORSE the EU is now in all except for name the EUSSR its full of and controlled by socialists, idealogues, liberals, champagne socialists who are also vying for power and influence and I ****** well know that they will NOT stand and fight, if they cannot win with laws, lawyers, threats , embargoes and restrictions they wont fight.
Worst case scenario from my point of view is if it gets nasty I can see boatloads of Brits seeking asylum in the US and Canada.

Mav you wont see much about it but there are various factions including the EU, Chinese, Africans, Arabs as well as the Ruskies who want another currency instead of the Dollar.

We shouldn't coward! United States needs to invoke M.A.D. and do it in a very powerful way though the problem here, putin is playing Chess while obama is playing Checkers!

russia has made great inroads in the last 5 years, the f-35 is no match for the su-34 only the f-22 is yet we stopped production of the f-22 in favor of the f-35 a major mistake!! russia technology is extremely close to matching our own, russia has pretty much scrapped the salt3 treaty while we are fully abiding it, as russia threatens the US and the West with nuclear weapons we are dismantling more of our minuteman 3 bringing the numbers down to 400, it is being reported russia has launched a satellite killer in permanent orbit something was thought to be scrapped with the fall of the soviet union, russia has tested a new nuclear warhead and on top of all this, they are helping china to arm it's self with the latest radar system oh and btw, russia has set to sea a new nuclear attack submarine and the bori class ballistic missile submarine utilizing russia new rsm-56 bulava SLBM so, any cards we hold over russia is very slim, russia is investing in submarines Vs carrier groups, it's counting on its sub force to take out our carrier group!
That doesn't sound good at all, and from what I read a few days ago Russia has some type of weapon that they used over there that stopped a US ship and scrambled everything just by flying over it. If they can do that we are so behind it is pitiful.

True that. I think the US is making itself look like it is 100% ready for WW3 when instead we are not even ready to handle small issues.
This government don't want to freak out the 50s and 60s generations and return Bert the Turtle plus reactivate the National Security Resources Board and the Office of Civil and Defense Mobilization, this government is going to tell us we are to far advanced and we have nothing to worry about besides, that's why we changed CD to FEMA in 1979 (underfunded).
