I know people who have been on missions to Mexico, US and Canadian Indian reserves and reservations who came home wide eyed and in shocked disbelief at the bad reception they got there..

plus ethanol adds to cost of a gallon of fuel...my buddy hauls loads of it and he got paid more for it than hauling regular fuel. he says many guys dont want to haul it .

so let me ask you all something: how would YOU get rid of the debt? Or at least stop it from growing? Even if Trump shuts down every government agency ( which the lawyers and judges everywhere are going to fight him on it, since they ARE the bureaucracy) it's not enough to pay off the debt and keep it from growing. I don't think we can. I think I mentioned it earlier in in this thread, but I think we are painted into a corner, economically. The whole world is. Collapse is inevitable. If any individual or company was in this state, they would have to declare bankruptcy.

In the past, when countries got in the this state, the normal solution was just to go to war with the country you owed the money to. Trump up some reason, like they are plotting against you, or all the bankers are satanists or something, go to war, and just write all the debt off.

But I don't think we can go to war with the whole world, in a way that leave us economically stable. All roads lead to collapse.

Tariffs may just be the tipping point that sets it off. They certainly won't make things better. Like I said, they are nothing more than a national sales tax. And given how things have played out since this post, I don't they are even serious, they are just a political game, I don't think they will ever be actually imposed now, at least not for long enough to matter.

'Best case' is that we sputter along for a few more years as it is until the collapse, vs it happens right here and now.

if farmers grow more of a certain type of thing than they can sell, they need to diversify. You know where a lot ( most ) of food cost is coming from ? Processing! Our biggest expense is the meat processing . It is half of what the animal would sell for at a livestock auction. But our local meat processing does not have a single illegal employed. They sometimes run out of people when someone gets sick ( covid was bad) and have to cancel an appointment but they don't have illegals

Another plus of food prices going up: maybe people will by more food that is not ultra processed. A large bag of carrots costs about the same as a large bag of chips, but you can make way more meals from it. People eat way too many calories here anyway, and maybe if chips go up even more they will eat less. Then health insurance will cost less since there is less fat and sick people. Plus if the welfare people have to get off their butts and get a physical labor job, it will be good for them too and they might be more healthy

I could run a mile in 4 minutes and change into my mid forties, when the government-required flu shot (military) completely disabled me and took away my ability to run or do much else. I was perfectly healthy and could out work anyone, physically.

This administration could do a great deal to restore America's health by forcing employers and the military to stop giving blanket vaccinations to healthy people, for things they would recover from.

Never had the flu. Living with the disability from an unneeded flu shot, 8 years later. Stole my life and my job, and took away my full health and fitness. Now, with Trump's return to work order for federal employees, I'll have to take 90 minutes out of my day for commuting, which means I have less (or no) time for rehab to try to recover.
