Look, I can't change what the Bible says. I'm not willing to second guess Jesus when he says perfection comes from giving our possessions to those less fortunate, that hardly a rich man enters heaven, that it's easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle. That the meek shall inherit the earth.
Obviously, I can't change what you think is "meaningless drivel." Even if it's the written word of God. Even if it's the foundation of western civilization over the past 2000 years, or one of the bedrock moral codes of this nation.
But someone so profoundly ignorant of those lessons, so eager to dismiss them...lacks the moral authority to pass judgement on anyone. Has no business casting stones. Can't make a meaningful comment about recipients of an award predicated on kindness and charity and peace. Reserved for those working to build a more compassionate society, instead of those focused on tearing it down.
I really, sincerely wish you'd give it some more thought.
