Those old Datsun's were bulletproof. IIRC, they had a diesel engine (as an option?). Ran forever.

I owned a lot of these old cars, but never had a Hemi, I had a good friend that raced one and he hardly ever made it a full quarter,
If you are really going to race one of the older Hemis you have to spend a lot on the heads.
Just skip through it is a pretty long watch at nearly 9 min.
I disagree with a lot of their top speed though, a lot of these were with 3:91 or 4:10s
My 67 R/T had 3:23s and built SS/A was 12.9-13.0 110-120 and topped out a bit over 150, the 2:73 took the next generation 440 SS/A over 170.

I had a best friend from Memphis, Tennessee in the 60s, His father was a consignment car dealer about 1/2 mile from Graceland and he sold Exotic and High performance cars on consignment.
They lived on Riverside in Memphis But came to Pickwick a lot because My friend Mother was Related to the Ford dealership owner in Iuka.
When His father decided to move back to Tish county, he brought his car dealership and connections with him.
In 1967 He got a White with Black top 427 Nascar powered Cobra that he Consigned from one of the Blackwoods He took My friend and I for a ride after he tried It out.
It really looked plain compared to all of the flashy color Panteras and Corvettes ETC on the lot, But MAN KIND!!!!!! I had the "honor" of sitting on the rear cowl, No top of course.
We went toward town on the highway, turned around after about two miles and came back slow for about 1/2 mile and in the high side of second he stomped it laid me flat on my back and by the time he was in 4th we were around 130 at least and I could not even hardly raise my head.

It was sold to someone on the west coast the next day for more than it was consigned for.
That was one of many cars we took rides in, but I never sat on the cowl of anything again I think My finger impressions are in there.
I read there were 2 paxton supercharged King Cobras made that were a lot more powerful than the Nascar motor.
I don't know how you could keep them from going up in smoke every time you bumped the gas pedal.

When I was a teenager, a friend of mine took care of a little old lady, doing lawn chores, house maintenance and being her friend. Just being a good kid.
When he turned 16, she gave him the key to a garage he had never entered and said there's a gift in there for him. The item was owned by her deceased husband.
He opened the garage, removed the tarp and found... A 1963 Jaguar. I don't recall if it was an E-type or XKE.

I had a 1963 Galaxie 500 X/L with a 390 in it 3-2s on an aluminum intake and a top loader 4 speed.
I sold it to a Lincoln, Mercury dealer, It had 0 rust anywhere on it.
edit::::: When I sold the X/L it had a 360 hp 429 and C6.
A few years later I had the chance to buy a 64 Mercury Marauder from a "Mopar only" friend that he got from an uncle that died for 400 dollars, it was a 390 with Air, power brakes and windows.
I had so many cars then that I turned him down.
I have done a lot of stupid things in my life, but HEHEHEH another boot on a stick moment.
It was White and Black interior just like this one and 100% rust free car.

It’s always nice to see old cars being appreciated instead of abandoned.
"The cars were being kept in a barn in rural South Carolina, so they’re actually barn find cars and not barn find condition cars. It looks like whatever the structure was built for originally, it’s now being used as a garage and storage shed. Some other cars are in the structure, and one makes an appearance in the next video. Making matters a little worse is the fact the barn is open to the elements, so the cars have plenty of that valuable barn find dust on them."

Guy Stumbles On Classic Cars Abandoned In Old Showroom
"Exploring abandoned buildings can come with many benefits and inherent risks, as YouTuber Lenny knows well enough. The guy lives in the UK and likes to explore uninhabited structures which have sat empty for years, recording his adventures for everyone else to enjoy. He’s not car-focused, but in the video we’ve included, he stumbled across some classic cars left in an abandoned dealer showroom, which is pretty interesting.
The showroom in question has an HH Crane sign still affixed above the expansive windows. As far as we know, HH Crane is a hose handling crane, but it might have been a defunct car dealership back in the day, we don’t know for sure."

427 powered Cobras were called tennis shoe burners. I had a friend that bought a 1964 Cobra with the 289/271 hp engine that was fast enough to make Corvette owners cry, of course the Cobra only weighed 2,000 pounds so that put other vehicles at a disadvantage to start with. My friend only paid $5,000 for his Cobra, he probably ended up paying more than that for insurance per year but it was a fun car to ride in, thrilling when he ran it up to 130 mph one night.Always elevated my heart rate ever since I first saw one. Unearthed New Jersey Trolley Gets Restored After 108 Years
Just "Think"...
Originally built in 1914, this trolley seated about 50 passengers at full capacity which meant that a lot of people were using this car. It's cool to think about how many men and women were transported to their place of business and how it wouldn't have been possible without this relic of history. Somewhere down the line, the trolley system was swapped out for the current public transportation method making the use of the vehicle impractical for the local government. This eventually led to this particular vehicle being transported and used as a house for quite some time where it likely served its purpose well with a vintage exterior and great sheltering properties.
