Woody mentioned that his wife had passed, pretty sure. And he was going to sell his home and move to Florida, I thought he said. Grieving is hard but hopefully he’s got new stuff going on.
I was wrong, but I thought it was his sister. He had been absent for a while prior to his last visit, because he was involved with the care of the person who was dying. It seems that the estate resolution is hard for survivors.

Here is his post:

Hi and thank you for reaching out!

Yeah, I have been MIA for a while now. How long I have no idea, things got complicated really fast and priorities changed rapidly.

Had a lot going on in life. Started with home hospice and ended with me moving to Fort Pierce, Florida. All that meant A LOT of facetime on the computer! More than I would have liked, but was necessary to coordinate with family, doctors, banks, lawyers, contacting folks, real estate agents, travel…

Information overload.

All of it was just more than I had in me at this stage of my life. The “Golden Years” had a lot of tarnish on them lately. I did what was necessary on the computer but found no enjoyment in doing anything else. The Hospice took up all my time, then funeral and looking to sell our home and find a new location to move to. And lawyers. I would highly recommend everyone takes a fresh look at their wills. Physically take it to a lawyer and spend the money to have it redone so you have a recent, clear, concise will. List ALL the online accounts you have AND the passwords. Passwords to your phone, computer, games, bank… In this day and age, it is necessary information for anyone dealing with your affairs.

A tip there: If you have a trusted friend, spouse or family, give them POA (Power or Attorney) with the Lawyer when you redo your will. They can step right in without losing a beat and you will make their lives a whole lot easier when dealing with your affairs. Even if you are just incapacitated, there is now a clear, LEGAL chain of command.

I avoid the computer as much as possible anymore.

Well… Not all true there. I check the weather and tide forecasts every morning before planning my day out and still have lingering affairs to deal with. I have been trying to recharge. I am slowly getting there, but it seems the older I get, the longer the road gets. Starting a new life isn’t as easy as when I was a young buck! HaHaHa!

Alright, enough face time spent for now. Tide just started going out so I am going to hit the inlet jetty and see what I will have for dinner: Hot dogs or snapper. If anyone is in the Treasure Coast area, drop me a PM and we can wet a line.

Thank you again for reaching out!

Woodrow.
