It is possible (maybe likely) that the WHOLE story about the Army chopper is a 100% lie.
Maybe it was some kind of covert operation/mission.

And why did ATC have the Identification of the chopper, and make radio contact between ATC & chopper pilot, and not tell him to turn on the transponder.
As that video I linked above indicated, it was an accident waiting to happen.

A systemic failure

Speaking from the White House - just over three miles from the scene of the disaster - Mr Trump at points acknowledged that it was too soon to draw conclusions as he encouraged the nation to pray for the victims, but he moved nonetheless to assign blame.

Mr Trump said "we are one family" as he expressed condolences for the crash. He then proceeded to attack political opponents and unleash grievances about diversity initiatives.

"The FAA is actively recruiting workers who suffer severe intellectual disabilities, psychiatric problems and other mental and physical conditions under a diversity and inclusion hiring initiative spelled out on the agency's website," Mr Trump said.

He added that the program allowed for the hiring of people with hearing and vision issues as well as paralysis, epilepsy and "dwarfism".

Officials say 28 bodies have been recovered so far after a regional passenger jet carrying 64 people collided in midair with a Black Hawk helicopter Wednesday night. The plane was approaching a runway at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport.
Here's what we're following:

Also interesting that as soon as it happened, Army said, "No high-ranking officers were onboard. That seemed a strange announcement.
Because of the helicopter's call sign - PAT 25.
That stands for Priority Air Transport, and is usually reserved for when the Army has VIP passengers on board.

Another thing that seems strange, they now claim the two aircraft were headed "Towards" each other.
Doesn't that go without saying, seeing as how they collided?

WHY they were heading towards each other appears to be the question at hand. I can't imagine why any pilot would not want every gadget in their toolbox turned on and alerting them of other aircraft in a congested area, and also making them visible to every other aircraft out there. Flying around at night, with no transponder, boggles my mind. Obviously a military aircraft wouldn't want to give away its position in a war zone, but Reagan Airport is hardly that.

This whole setup being reported seems so "not safe" to me that I just can't comprehend it having happened. In a highly sensitive (government-wise) location like Washington D.C. I would have expected the military, of all people, to be keenly aware of the precise location of any aircraft larger than a sesame seed.

I read an article earlier that said there was another close call with a helicopter a couple hours earlier. ATC is an on going problem. In this case they weren't clear about the direction of the landing plane. 'Do you see it' isn't specific enough... at night... lights every where. Seems the helo pilot was looking at something other than the CRJ. It's looking like it was a tragic but avoidable accident. :(

Now isn't that interesting... WHO important was on the plane?
No one important was on the plane as far as I can tell at this moment.

However.

The blackhawk helicopter that crashed into the plane was no ordinary training helicopter. It was a goldtop blackhawk that usually carries important people. We have been told that there were 3 crew members on that blackhawk, but no mention has been made about anyone else on the blackhawk.

Here is a MonkeyWerx video that explains the crash step by step. Sorry MonkeyWerx graphics are terrible, but the explanation sheds new light on things.

Look at the MonkeyWerx video I posted in this thread. The guy in that video says it was not a regular training blackhawk but a goldtop blackhawk that usually carries important people. Hmmmmm...

ATC was understaffed. The ATC guy was doing the job of 2 people.

Both the ATC and the chopper pilot were responsible for this accident.
After this sank-in and getting the available details, and hearing from professionals in the field and few arm-chair quarterbacks. It was also my interpretation that ATC and the helicopter pilot were primarily at fault. But - Ultimately the blame lay's on higher up officials and administration for allowing a practice that could have resulted in such a disaster.

The night before American Eagle Flight 5342 collided with an Army Black Hawk helicopter near Reagan National Airport on Wednesday night, a jet that tried to land at the same airport had to circle around and make another approach after a helicopter approached its flight path, according to reports.

The Washington Post reported that an audio recording from air traffic control captured the encounter, and ultimately, Republic Airways Flight 4514 landed safely, flight tracking software shows.

The Embraer E-175 was cleared to land at the airport’s Runway 19 and advised about a helicopter in its vicinity. It executed a go-around maneuver after its automated collision avoidance system ordered what's known as a ‘resolution advisory’ to avoid nearby traffic.

That put the aircraft out of proper alignment for landing, but was able to land safely several minutes later, The Associated Press reported.

The military helicopter was advised of the plane, which was flying around flew roughly 1,000 feet above the helicopter, according to flight tracking sites cited by the AP.
A close call the night before. Lucky once does not mean lucky twice. That close call should have been a learning experience, preventing any likelihood of it happening again.

Something stinks like a bureaucrat's bourbon breath about this whole thing!
Yes, this thing stinks to high heaven!

Something else was going on here. That helicopter, hundreds of feet too high in altitude, appeared as would a missile, heading straight for the jet.

Let's not forget that 24 hours earlier, a similar incident occurred with a military chopper and a plane who had to abort it's landing!!!! DRY RUN????

They've identified the 2 males on board, but curiously have not identified the pilot, a female. There has been talk that this "female" was a transitioned male.

We'll probably never know.
