Since we're all just sittin' roun', let's talk about mosquitoes. I can't sit outside for long without skeeters getting to me.
I use a citronella-based spray without DEET, but they still fly around my face.
I've tried using burning torches but its not the safest and has to be in the right position to keep them away. Rarely get that right, I either get bitten or smoked out. I do not smoke.

What do you use to keep bugs away?
We have an electric mosquito light that we keep going 24/7. It’s enough for a half acre. Works great! It’s called Dyna Trap. You can get them at Amazon or Sam’s club.

okay i have been retired for 3 months now and hubby said he would retire in 5 years. during that time we plan on reaching some goals so we can enjoy some of our time . i think it would be a good idea to sit down every 6 months and see how far we have gotten on those goals. starting tonight. i will write it down so we can see what we discussed and how close we are to acheiving those goals.

Timmie, although I was forced medically retire at the age of 54, I am now (well, next week) will turn 63 years old. There is a fine line between retirement and death, and for me this is the time to go see the world. See what you want, do what you want. Once you sit down and get relaxed, then it will be over. Don't sit down!

we have no intention of sitting down. there is on old saying that you are as young as you feel. well we have a farm to run ,but we would also like to go camping some and fishing. speaking of fishing ,my sister and her hubby has a couple of places on the alabama river and we are going for a few days next month to do some catfishing. their boat is down right now. she hopes to have it ready by then. if not we will fish from the bank. we plan on just enjoying the time we are there.

I mix peppermint essential oil with almond oil as the carrier oil and put some in a baby food jar and dip a cotton ball in it and rub it on my hair (yes, gets my hair oily) on my arms, face, legs, etc. It works for every bug that bothered me even in the garden and those nasty deer flies would follow me place to place but they never landed on me once they got a whiff of that stuff.

Pretty much the same here on the medically forced to retire but for me it was at the age of 44. I wish I could still work at times,I could really use the money.

At the end of WWII they brought thousands of anti-aircraft guns up to Alaska for mosquito control.
