I felt pretty puny this morning. Not expecting much after the firehose went down, then up my body. My neighbor also felt puny so she got a covid home kit. She tested positive, so mama went out for one of the home tests. I go down on Thursday for a real test, but below is my results from this morning.

Yep! It feels odd saying it’s a nasty storm considering what Jim and other members just went through. It’s a cold storm for sure. There’s some talk of flooding here but it’s not going to be anywhere close to the storm a month or so ago. We technically haven’t even gotten to the first day of winter yet. This is wonderful!
I did have to laugh. The local news told people to stay home tomorrow if possible for safety on the roads. SERIOUSLY!?! It’s rain and some puddles

Hubby and I just finished Lord of the Rings last week (for the 100th time), and are started the third Hobbit movie tonight!

To us the storm was no big deal but to city folk (insert panic emoji here)
We got not quite 1 1/2 rain yesterday. The winds were miserable. Got most of the water drained off the up front pastures as best we can and we have another round coming tomorrow. Not as much rain expected but the winds are supposed to be back. It’s definitely going to freeze tonight though. Already close. Grass is crispy and sparkly

I’m ok. I should be sleeping.
That’s a bit of rain! We had a frost here Saturday night but I don’t know if old man winter is really going to hit here this season. Sometimes the almanac is right. It is supposed to be windy here all day and fair temps.
Are you putting up a tree this year? Hope to do that here Friday night.

It’s much needed rain. It just tickles me to see grass this time of year. Hope it keeps on coming.
We’ve had a few frosts in the last couple weeks. Finally moved all the plants into the barn for winter. Not sure when the hard freezes will be. It just occurred to me I haven’t even looked at the almanac this year.
We aren’t decorating this year. Our hearts aren’t in it this year. Seems to be a theme around here. I haven’t seen any lights or decorations anywhere.
Hope your tree is stunning! Real tree or “fake” tree?

I found a great deal on a fake tree last December. Couldn’t bear to do the real tree thing anymore, that was a thing we always did together. Now we can put it up when I want, me and a couple of the ol’ kids. I have two large houseplants still outside and the frost didn’t affect them…much. I cut some new starts off of them. In fact, there was a bigger than it should have been black widow spider on one of the baby plants last day or so, which I promptly disposed of (the spider not the plant). I didn’t ask for ID, made an assumption. Squished purple. Ew, shudder.

We had a fake tree. It finally had to go the end of last year. Got a lot of years out of it. We haven’t replaced it yet. Figure money better spent on our eventual move.
I love starting cutting off our plants. I don’t know why.
We have SOOOOOOO many black widows. Not a fan of them either.
What’s keeping you up? Anything good or just can’t sleep?

A chat with you, . Nothing else, I was Asleep. Sometimes I jump on here to poke around and see what I’ve missed. The mushroom and fungi discussions have my interest. The black widows are shy, she was trying to hide. Creeps me out she was inside living on a potted plant. They’re found in every state.
I think I’m ready for more sleep. Good luck with your stormy weather. Oh, Christmas decorations are everywhere here.

Just taking advantage of 'quiet time', as both the 'Grrls' (Wife n Daughter..) are sawing wood in Pillowlandia, so.. Figured I'd get a few things in Mac-Werld done / caught up..

How ya'll 'Up there'? We got a fair bit of Rain down here (SGV) and a little wind, here / there, but.. Nothin 'serious' (I mean, by poor W. Ky measures, it's hard to call what we just got even "Weather", so.. All good on the Southern Front..

Plus still trying to get garden produce processed and put up before it goes bad. Only 5 pumpkins left then about 30 harvest moons. Then I’m officially done with the 2021 garden harvest.
We’re going ok. A bit of flooding but it’s running off well. We got enough of a break from the big storm that the ground is doing its job for now. Not looking forward to the winds coming yet again. Y’all getting the crazy winds? I hear ya on the weather talk. I feel funny talking about our “storms” after all that. Just so grateful all our forum family are ok.
I’m finally slowing down for the “night”. Now time to unwind.

They said we’re gunna get hammered starting this morning. Nothing to write home about until this evening. The winds are coming from the opposite direction they predicted also.
