and just get my mind in a summer way of thinking.

Jim

I went to like this post and got a popup that asked if I was sure I wanted to like this post. What have you been doing that was bad enough to make the computer ask if I was sure I really liked you??

And if your hubby ever joins in this can be his. LOL

I had something tacky to say but decided I'd keep it! Haha!

I get those pop ups also!? I answered and went on.

I have a surgeon's appointment in the big smoke on Wed.
Just as well I've stocked up on fuel.

I HATE going to large hospitals during flu season or when Rota virus season hits. There are stains here in Australia that will level a healthy adult.
My inner germphobe will come screaming to the fore as these places are just a seething petri dish of germs.
Face mask, anti-bacterial hand sanitizer and strict hand washing WITH SOAP up to the forearms is a MUST.
I'm not feeling well so my immune system is under pressure as it is.

*sigh*

Damned if I do.
Damned if I don't.

@Amish Heart Heritage Girls sounds like a far more sensible organisation that actually teaches survival and practical skills as well as encourages Christianity too. Good on you for trying to find somewhere sensible for the grandchildren to learn.

@Tank-Girl yes being an ex nurse I like your description of hospitals and it is true. We avoid going there if at all possible as well and our doctors being 2 are members of our church so we can see them there usually or they are in emergency at the hospital too. They both pretty much know that unless we are resus to send us home with appropriate medicine and not admit us also knowing full well that if we return to hospital then it has to be something very serious. We just quarantine ourselves at home and tell others to stay away.

New virus going around that they cannot treat to at the moment that lasts for a month, dry cough etc and antibiotics don't help and it lasts a month as friends of mine an elder couple had it. Sigh we are being bombarded with it.

Pie is most assuredly a food group ... fruit pies, vegetable pies, meat pies, dessert pies, pizza .... one could live on pie (especially if one had plenty of coffee).... my. doctor suggested such a diet may not be good for me, but what does he know... skinny 30 year old who jogs

Hi Guys and gals! Hopefully I can finish up my ponds general shape today and focus on plumbing it, it is supposed to start raining tomorrow. I am glad it got warm enough this winter to get it done before spring. That is going to put me way ahead and maybe even be able to catch some rain water to save a few bucks on power.

Here's to hoping it holds water. I've seen several failed ponds around here where they just won't hold water. :-(

I worry about the same thing. I am going to test my soil today and see what the clay content is. The neighbor says a corner of my property is Bentonite which is a perfect pond liner so I am going to dig a hole and check that soil too. So far with the last rain we had the pond held a bunch of water, I am worried because about 4 feet down I went through a layer of decomposing rock which sucks up the water.

You should be able to tell after a rain if the bottom is going to hold water because it will puddle all over. It also takes time for debris to settle in the bottom and help act as a binding agent. Fingers crossed for you.
