Ahhh, okay. If I shot a coyote I'll likely have to skin it and the just stretch the pelt before it freezes as the weather is way to cold to tan it the only way I know. So I was wondering if a frozen pelt will be able to be tanned or if it will mold before I can get it tanned with heat and salt?

You can freeze it. That’s what the taxidermist does with them.

So got up 6am and bundled up to head out. It was still dark and I had 20 min till first light. I got the bach door opened just enough to shoot thru and started calling.By 7:30 it was very bright and the wind was picking up and I was near frozen despite good layers and gear. So I snapped some pics and closed everything up to find it was 15 degrees without wind chill. Didn't see a thing, apparently the coyotes are smarter than me and stayed in bed. LOL

The back fields have a stark winter beauty to them.

@buildit them darn yotes can be smart. Years ago when we raced sled dogs they used to come by at night and harass the dogs. I waited for them all night, many a night, very quietly and carefully. On the nights I waited they never came near. Tried full nights, random nights, part nights and they would never show. Finally got a friend with a call and in short order he cleaned them all out
