Trying to get the lawn tractor going.

I drained the fuel lines and the tank to get rid of the stale fuel and swapped out the fuel filter and poured a small amount of fresh fuel into the tank.
I found out the hard way that my old car battery is too large to fit into the battery well under the seat.
I was going to just sit the new battery in the foot well but then realized that there has to be a battery in the battery well so that the automatic engine cut off
under the seat disengages when I sit down.
*sigh*
My work around is to daisy chain the old battery in the battery well with leads to the new battery in the foot well.
Sounds good?
That might work?
Sure, it might if the new/ second hand car battery had a charge.
It's been sitting on the battery charger over night but.*grins* it's about to rain just as I'm about to test my work around.
There's always something.

I know two women who have had theirs done, one both knees, the other one. Both do not regret getting it done and the one wishes she had done it years before when her doc was pushing for it. The other wishes her doc would have quit saying she wasn't old enough leaving her to suffer for years. Her new doc said of course you need a knee and no you're not too young. She was knocking on the door of 70.

A doctor told my wife the same thing.
She is only 66.
The guy is a Russian and I never liked him
She fired him and found one that would do the surgery.
She is much, much better now.
Not totally pain free but close.
Now the arthritis in the thumb is her major a pain.
She had a shot in it last Friday but it's still hurting some.
Time will help I'm sure.

"There's always something."

Ain't that the truth!! Praise God for the challenges in life!

Have had some sunshine for a few days, @Peanut . Now it's raining again. At least the river has dropped about a foot!

The TN river will crest here today at 12.5 ft above flood stage.

It is raining steady here today also.

The fields around here are still covered.

Hey Gump, can we get together to lay bout and build an Ark?

I've got almost 10,000 board feet of lumber, but it's not gopher wood! It's Southern Yellow Pine.
BYOH! (bring your own hammer)

So my wife's boss (divisional VP) moved into a newly remodeled larger office, she then offered her old office to my wife (which is bigger and nicer than her current office). She accepted and spent the last week having it cleaned up, painted, carpet cleaned, etc. Today she started to work on having it decorated. I on the other hand spent the last week finding and taking pictures of me, printing them out and putting them in cheap frames. Today I snuck over when she was in a meeting and put them all around her new office. 15 in all. She clearly has yet to see them as I have not received a phone call or text message yet. :D

Hahaha! That's hilarious!

Was buying the equipment less expensive than hiring someone who had the means at their disposal to run tests on your vehicle?
I doubt it would be cheaper it's 5-600 dollars for the equipment and I've had just routine checkups cost that much if it needed a few things done. At least now I'll be able to work on all 3 of my trucks. The few times I've had to bring my vehicle in the bill was always at least a thousand. I look at this as an investment. I've never trusted garages much, the 2 I use now when needed I do but still, charging $50-75+ an hour for labor is outrageous especially if I can do it myself if I have the equipment. I've been working on vehicles since I was 16 and even had some schooling on them when I was young,it's a hobby I really enjoy and will do as long as I can if possible.

If it's something that you enjoy doing it's worth the expenditures then. And if it works with all your vehicles, then it's a money saved then. I was just curious.

That's fine,no problem at all.
Ford did away with using this equipment in 2006 and to get their new equipment they're using now cost 10 grand just for the equipment plus programming and a license to program them which is a yearly thing. No wonder they charge like they do when you bring 1 in .

$50 to $75 an hour is too low for a shop rate in my experience. Most all the shops in the greater Seattle/Tacoma area were charging between $120 and $150 an hour. The mechanics that worked there got between $18 and $30 an hour. When I started my last business I was charging $125 an hour shop rate. When you consider I paid for all the equipment, rent, gas, electric, water and all the miscellaneous costs of the business plus the $30/hr for my employees plus their benefit package I ended up with a net profit of about 5%. I was kept busy because we had a reputation for good quality and we kept that reputation intact.
My employees were making $240/day plus holidays, vacation time, sick leave and medical and I got about $150 - $160/day as the owner after all the bills. My net worth was considered higher because I owned the equipment and supplies but that didn't pay the mortgage or my bills at home.

You're preachin' to the kwire! I use to own a residential construction company. Workmans Comp finally put me out of business with the big rate hike in the late 80s.

Does anyone know the name of this ornamental flower bush? It has big red flowers and can get over 6ft. I've been trying to remember it's name for 3 days and more importantly why it ended up in my edible plants folder. Thanks!
