I hate rain. I mean I hate rain so much I'd rather have snow. Years of working outside in different jobs has made me just hate rain. It makes everything harder, depresses the mood and soaks you cloths no matter what you wear. I hope the plants like it because I still hate rain.

Guess what the weather will be for over the next 8 days.......

Same here. We're under flash flood warning again. 4-9 inches through Saturday! I can't seem to get much done around here. Next Wednesday is forecasted with frozen, yeah frozen, mix.

Hey Gumpy, it's March. In the Mid-South. In the 21st Century. I realize there ain't no climate change, because Trump said so, and his EPA geek agrees. If you know how to contact Buster, he'll explain what is really going on. I've decided that next year I'll take March off.

Here's a random thing to chat about:
got a call from my folks tonight. They live across the river bottoms from me about 7 minute drive in the country. dad was sitting in his recliner in the living room, and heard some noise in the dining room. He thought it was my mom, and got up to see what she was doing. To his surprise, there was a woman going through their belongings. Surprised, she left... and dad went down their long lane while mom called the sheriff. He saw a truck pick the lady up and take off. He gave description to the cops, and they caught the people within an hour. They had dad's truck keys and other stuff. Dad keeps his keys in the ignition (they live in the country). I will no longer keep mine in the ignition......and I'm sure he won't either.

That's weird! Sounds like an addict! They'll steal from anyone for their next fix.

I know an elderly lady who has an adult daughter who met a man that got her involved in illegal drugs. The daughter is in prison for a long time now. But before she got caught, she slowly robbed her mother, took the belongs to a pawn shop, sold them to her friends. This daughter also stole guns from their neighbor's house and that charge was added to her time in prison. Yup, that next fix was more important than her mother, her neighbor, and her freedom.

I agree completely.

I've got a stepson that's been in and out of trouble for that since he was about 12. He'd been in jail a lot more if his family pressed charges but they never do. He's stolen from all his brothers and sisters multiple times and even me,but he pawned them off or sold them to somebody before I knew about it.

Sounds like they need a dog.
Preferably a big one.
My neighbor was robbed twice a couple of years ago.
Both times he was out back tending to his goats.
He shouldn't have let his son's gangbanger friends come around.

Sounds like he's being watched! A big dog would help him a lot.

Wish me luck.
On the 17 th of April I see the Orthopedic Surgeon.
Will try to keep you posted as much as I can.

I've put it on my calendar to make sure I remember to say a special prayer for you. Hopefully everything will work out for you.

Had the same problem here. By God's Grace and the boy's hard work all is well now. Wow, what a horrible 6 year stretch it was.

Well like I said,he started when he was about 12 and he just got out of jail again last year and he's 27 now so it's been about 15 years for him and I STILL wouldn't trust him ;)

I totally understand SH...I still have trust issues there myself but that's just me. I have found as long as he stays off the drugs he is a helluva nice guy. Unfortunately there is another person that lives in there while under the influence. I totally get the addictive mind and i am well aware of the endless possibilities of backsliding. Like I said BY THE GRACE OF GOD.......Still clean and doing well is he...

Really weird to me that people have NO FEAR. They sound like gypsies, doesn't necessarily mean they're druggies, ya know. There is so much weird stuff going on. Trust God, but lock your doors. In Texas it is legal to defend your neighbor's property with a gun too, another reason I don't think I'll ever get my awesome husband to leave TX. Legal that your vehicle is considered an extension of your home, something about a castle law. lol Meanwhile, our inlaws think everybody is walking around with spurs on boots, sayin' howdy, and loaded with a sword or gun.

That is very odd. Most everyone around here would be VERY cautious approaching a house in the country because folks will shoot first and ask questions later. Since your parent's home sounds a bit isolated that would doubly apply.

Did they have workers over recently? Or other people that could have shady associates? First thought is someone your parents know or recently met knew they would be a soft target, and they told someone else.

Something really odd happened today. I got a letter and cashier’s check from my bank, or at least it seems to be from my bank. The header on the letter gives the correct address for a processing center they have in a mid-west state. Yet the letter has been bugging me all afternoon and evening…

The letter says... Subject: Additional reimbursement for payments made for your identity theft protection plan provided by ******.

3 or 4 years ago my bank signed me up for identity theft protection without my permission and charged me for it. A few months went by before I caught it. They gave me a refund when I complained and canceled everything. It was so long ago I don’t remember which year it happened.

The letter also says…********* previously reimbursed for payments you made for the plan referenced above. We discovered your refund was less than intended… Really? 3 or 4 years later you suddenly discovered this?

The letter also says…You plan was previously canceled. Cashing the check will not re-enroll you in the plan. Sort of an odd statement, at least it seems so to me.

The cashier’s check attached to the bottom seems legit except for one small detail. At the bottom of the check it says… For inquiries: ***-***-****. A phone number, the area code traces to a part of San Jose Ca, about 2000 miles from the origin of the letter.

Think I’ll call my bank tomorrow.

What's the old sayin'... Beware Greeks bearing gifts!

I would be calling the bank too. So many scams out there it is difficult to keep track of them.
