Welcome joe! It's always good to get many different perspectives to help you see things you wouldn't have. Once at work several so called sharp educated people were discussing what a reprobate was. No one was sure, and we're guessing at the definition. One employee, that's mentally challenged, walked by and gave the correct definition. Sometimes even a child can see things clearly, or differently.

Hi Joe, your in a place where Prepping is almost a necessary lifestyle these days, we have quite a few displaced white Rhodies and South Afrikans who have moved to the UK because its no longer viable for them in Africa.
Yes things are heating up over here, the economy is slowly sliding and the violent protest are increasing on a daily basis. How long it will take untill the proverbial "S" hits the fan is anyones guess, just hope that weve done enough and planned well enough.
I still believe two separate countries is going to be the only viable long term solution down there.
It would be a very viable solution, but they "current government" would never allow it or even entertain the thought of it. We will just have to ride out the "storm". Do you know any HAM Radio operators over there my call sign is ZS6JVZ, maybe we could chat on the radio sometime?
joe I have two or three Prepper Hams in my closed net, I will forward your callsign to the main two, One in Scotland the other in Europe.
Sent E mail to our Hams as requested, god knows how long before they respond, both live very isolated locations
"Isolated" sounds like a good place to be, thank you for the forward. If you dont mind what motivated you to start prepping?
A conversation in 1979 in a foxhole close to the inner German border with my CO.
Conversation went something like
" Hey boss, whilst we are out here in Germany with al this kit training to fight and survive a nuclear war, what measures have been put in place to protect our families back home? "
" None" came the reply "the government has decided that whilst it has built bunkers under Corsham, Liverpool, Whitehall, Dover etc and a super bunker in Canada for the Royals they have deemed it to expensive to protect the civilian population or the families of the military"
That's when I and many others had an awakening that the ONLY people we could trust were ourselves and the fact the state existed only to protect itself.
Then back in the UK one night in the mess after many pints our senior NCOs and warrant officers admitted that if the balloon went up they were going to get together with their families, snaffle as much kit as they could and bugger off to some place in Scotland.
Then with the increased infestation of Socialism in the UK with the welfare state, open borders, gun bans erosion of rights I started looking for a method to ensure my families continuity. I then spotted a dog eared copy of a US Magazine on a train called Guns n Ammo and in it was an article by one Mel Tappan, and he was talking about survivalism, So I started writing to noted Americans, even got invited over to live with em for a while, learned as much as I could from those guys then became a survivalist.

FYI with over population, failed multi culturalism, rise of extreme islam, spread of the EUSSR, mass migration from Africa and Asia to Europe the risks of disaster are greater now than during the cold war
Every thing you say rings true, I think the migration from Africa and Asia holds dire problems for you. The numbers of migrants to Europe is staggering and places such a burden on resources of a country and especially their citizens, and all this is done and allowed in the name off "Humanity". I wish you all the best in all your preps, keep well and keep prepping.
Joe my Scots colleague has been calling you on 14 Meg from NW Scotland, What band are you on so I can point them in the right direction, also I will use this forums PM system to give you his callsign.
My system is down for the moment will let you know as soon as it is up and running, we would more than likely be able to make contact after dark, then the signal propagation is much better.
Radio is not my thing mate, but the other guys in our group will try and hail you esp the one in Europe.

I only use radios for local comms on PMR 446 frequencies plus EU/UK spec CB.

I can help with any vehicle modifications whatsoever, my uncle Roy is a engineering genius the one that made the soon to be super sized power and water source possible. Though I can't post the plans we took the model from an old nuclear fusion design where we harvest the energy from self sustaining plasma.
The downside is despite the increased protective capability and power output it requires sixteen litres of liquid nitrogen and twice as much nitrogen to get started along with a thirty four point six kilowatt jolt to charge it that is why it is two stage being hooked up to the old power source.
Calcutions predict this two million rand build will be able to provide over sixty volts per second.
Don't ask how we have a licence to build this but it will take almost five weeks to build.
