Been making phone calls and trying to deal with AC problems. $720+ later, the AC wasn't fixed yesterday. 6lbs of refrigerant were put in but they all leaked out in about an hour and it never got cold inside. Got down to like 86. Opened windows and shut AC off and it got down to 83 but went back up again. It's cooler outside than inside right now. So aggravating.
Had back and forth calls with the people who installed the outside unit. They can't get an air handler that matches bc they were discontinued. Place he recommended is too far and won't do the service so warranty would be useless.
I called 10 different places with results ranging from call can't go through, no longer in service, answering machine, answering service, we'll call you back later (never got call back from those), and finally tenth one the lady was super sweet and they already have someone heading out for a free estimate. They texted me a mini bio of him saying his name, his hobbies, a photo, etc.

AC guy called while I was typing this. He should be here in about 45 to 50 minutes. I gave him some directions to make it easier to find.

I cleaned litterboxes, took out more trash, swept up the floor some more, cleaned hallway, put down some carpet powder and fresh puppy pads, sprayed febreeze all around. Hopefully it won't be so bad smelling when he gets in. I'm sure my room reeks of my sweat right now. I can't stop sweating.

I better get the truck serviced soon before it breaks down on me.

So the AC guy came out and said he can find something that pairs with the condenser of a different brand. So long as it uses the same power, is the same size, and uses the same refrigerant it should work fine. I'm hoping he's right bc the units aren't cheap. He had several options and one had free parts and labor for 10years. They will put an air purifier on the plenum and he's throwing in a surge protector for free. He said we can move the vent from bro's bedroom into the hallway. Rather than going to a single 24x24" vent (minimum size required for the air handler), the original installers put one vent in the hallway and the other just behind the door in the bedroom. So it was something like this: (please excuse how sloppy it is-- I suck at proportion and perspective)

The vent in my brother's room keeps getting covered in trash, clothes, etc. Makes it harder to change the filters-- especially since he can now lock his door and it will stay shut because of the repair strikeplate.
I asked and they said I can move the bedroom vent to the hallway as that is one big compartment underneath.
so, it would be like this:

I'm going to have to get a bin for some of the stuff that is in the way of the air handler.

This morning i went to yet another funeral, 2nd one this week. Took the folks to doc apts this afternoon. I'm wiped out.

In spite of this I've seen more cable news since midnight last night than I have in 4 years, not an exaggeration. Was pretty sure of the real outcome but was equally sure there'd be another 2am ballot dump. What a pleasant surprise when I woke this morning!

The rest of the coverage is pure comic relief. Some of the funniest lines I've heard in ages. SNL should book all of them. It'd be the second greatest comeback in history.

husband is taking the truck for the inspection today, it's late ( due in October) and I wonder what all the will find....not looking foward to finding out, hope it is not going to be too expensive

Son is helping me with the animals, he has not found a job yet but has applied some places. I hope he finds one soon

Other than that I don't have too many plans for today

Going to Collier Sportsman club while my SUV is empty of my P.A. sound components.
I have some brand new magazines for carbine & pistol to run .

Already walked.
Next, will walk dogs.
A little banking.
Roast garbanzo beans for snacks. For people but now thinking about it, I may do some plain for dogs and see how they like it.
Give one dog a bath.
Go with Church ladies for a local event in town. Appetizers and shopping at the businesses. Sounds like fun!

so...truck failed inspection. It's leaking axle fluid. Sounds like an expensive fix, plus they can't get to it till next week. Called around nobody else can do it sooner either. We need it to take animals to the auction truck. I hate having all these stupid vehicle problems all the time. It has under 100k miles on it. Still haven't replaced starter on yukon either.
Plus one of the livestock dogs just came up to the house, meaning hole in the fence. I wonder if the goats are still in. Husband about to go check, I cleaned the house and did laundry so I am taking a break

Got up (early of course) & did my morning chores. Tomorrow is garbage day so I cleaned out the refrigerator. This evening I'll go around to all the interior garbage cans & empty them. We are "told" by the weather people that we will get rain today. I emptied 4 of my rain barrels (even tipping them over) & put in some bleach just in case they might be right. Maybe the 5th time is lucky (they have stuck out the last 4 times). Neighbor came over for coffee & that took up 90 minutes this morning. Yesterday the new bath set we ordered came in so I replaced them I should wash the bath rugs today but it's a pain to do just one load so I'll put that off until I need to wash other stuff. Went out to dinner last night to celebrate the stock market's performance, that was the most we have made in a day (it zoomed). That brought on a discussion on money, which my wife handles. I'm going to have to draw out of my IRA next year so I wanted some facts to start planning with. Found out my wife hasn't bothered to pass on some important info. The cost of living increases for the last few years have drastically (in my mind) increased our income. I wondered why it seemed that no matter what we spent we never have to draw out of savings, now I know. It's a good & bad thing. Good to not have to worry about spending but bad to have to worry about taxes.

Summons for jury duty today. Was supposed to be there at 7:30 and the doors open at 7:30. It was not easy to get out of bed early enough to get ready on this cold and snowy day. I just wanted to stay under the covers and read.

Roads were very slick this morning. I didn't think I was driving too fast for road conditions, but I was. I almost rear ended someone. Traffic backed up because someone slid into the corner as they were making a turn. I slowed down but traffic backed up behind me. Other people were over driving road conditions. More central roads were better, but not 100%. I saw several emergency vehicles which must have been on their way to accidents.

I got into the juror room before 8, which was the time to be there, watched recorded information for about 20 minutes before a woman came in and delivered information for well over 5 minutes, more like 10 minutes, without looking at a paper or teleprompter. She must have delivered this information so many times that she has it down. She was not 100% the best speaker, but she was good. It was easy to follow her.

We had a 20 minute break to use the rest room, get something from the inhouse coffee shop, or to wait. Most of the other prospected jurors were looking at their phones. A couple people were on laptops, and 3 of us had books we were reading.

Same woman came in and said that there were two trials scheduled for today. One was dismissed, and the other delayed because of new evidence and we were all dismissed and had done our civic duty for the year.

Filled up with gas on the way home. Bowl of French Onion soup and in about half an hour I will go get Bernard the hound and take him to the dog park. After I take him home, I'll get Nova the Aussie and go to another dog park.

roflmao.............!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fortunately I live in a state where the government doesn't inspect our vehicles. Is it just a leaking seal? If it is it shouldn't be to hard to replace.
My list of equipment that needs repairs keeps growing. Even more so now that it's getting colder.

I just learned today that the fuel that was delivered to me was the wrong fuel. I asked for a winter mix of 50/50 stove oil and diesel. Turns out that the driver brought up plain off road diesel, I was wondering why it was so cheap @$3.39 per gallon. I've had problems keeping the back up generator running ever since the temps started dropping. The only option that I have is to pump out about 100 gallons and add stove oil to the tank. I've got a couple clean 55 gallon barrels that I can put it in and save for next summer. It's just more work that I don't need right now, plus its two 120 miles round trips to pick up the stove oil.
