I am not sure exactly what the problem is, but for a while, when I post on the birthday thread, it doesn't show up in my feed, and it is probably not showing up in your feed either. I have reported it at two different times, and I think (I could be wrong) that the problem is that the thread is in an administrative category. When I first began posting birthdays, I was post a new thread each time, and one of you wise people thought it was better to have one thread. Admins put all the threads together, and we have carried on from there.
Maybe I've done something to restrict access. I don't know. If one of you can seriously help me figure out what is going on, I would appreciate it. But in the meantime, I have decided to start a new thread for birthdays.

It would only take one member to secretly complain to the Admins that you had doxxed them by posting when their birthday was for the Admins to put the thread out of reach of the robots that are constantly scouring the web (and this forum) for info.
That would hobble the thread for users too.

It sure is a possibility. There is a way to not have me give someone a birthday greeting, and that would be not having it on your profile. I do have a spread sheet and have looked at all the birthdays on it that have ever come up or are on the list.

If anyone would REALLY prefer for me to not acknowledge their birthday, please PM me and I will make note on my spread sheet.

I have had two conversations with admins.

There is nothing wrong. Just a change in who can see forum admin business and issues. I did move the old thread and the new one in one thread in this area so it will show up in the news feed. And this is a better place for it. So, just keep on keeping on.

Happy Gettin Born Day

Ever since I was no longer a kid getting cool toys on that day, I have not looked forward to that day.
I do have a birthday coming up in May and am perfectly OK with nobody wishing me a happy birthday .
Depending on my mood I might reply:
"Oh great, thanks for telling me that I have one year less to live."
I know, I know, I should be celebrating that I have now lived 9 years longer than I was supposed to, instead of 8.
