Just Wanted to say hello.
New to this site, but a member of other sites and forums
I'm a bit of a nerd, a cool one though.
I do have a ham license, but not that active with it.
Hobbies include radio, computer and audio equipment repair, model building, history and current events, among other things.
I like to fix things, but not always successful.
Getting into prepping a bit, as I figure things will hit the fan sooner or later. (probably Sooner)

Hi, Eric. Welcome.
I lived in Groton, Connecticut during my days as a Navy wife so I went to Rhode Island more than a few times. It is a beautiful part of our nation.

I grew up in Texas and I have one RI story that I tell everyone. I was in a mall in Warwick RI in about 1980ish. I ordered a cheese omelet. I asked for some salsa to put on it. They had none. So I asked if maybe they had Tobasco or Cholula or some such condiment. No. They did not. The waitress went to talk to the "chef" and he said maybe I could use KETCHUP AND PEPPER. WTH? Ketchup and pepper??? I think not.

Pleas tell me R.I. knows about salsa now.
I know. Texans are a little overboard on snobbishness regarding ..... salsa.

Welcome from New York State!

Hello and welcome from S.W. Oregon. When I was in my early teens I took up radio and electronics, I learned code and got my novice license, with the coming age of transistors I built a few things but as the years went by everything got just too complicated to keep up with and I turned to hiking and fishing and loved doing that, now I guess my hobby is prepping, that's not really a hobby, it's a necessity.

I thought I'd add a PS, when I was young my dad told me that I had cousins that lived on Rhode Island but I've never checked that out, I don't even know their last name or what level of cousin, they are probably just a connection down the line from my grandparents on my dad's side that came from Norway.
