Hell, Im bored up here in Maine. Throw me into a survival situation. See how I do. Lol people laugh at my ass for surviving against all odds. Not funny.
I think since you’re a pretty well rounded prepper it would be wise to wait until after the storm, then after contacting her determine if your presence is needed and if you could help them out. Either way, waiting until after the storm makes sense to me.If I were taking the truck, I'd load it up with Gerry cans and tough it out. But that's too long of a trip for the old pickup.
I didn’t have any trouble getting back to N Ga today. 75 was congested, but hell, it always is. I did see lots of utility trucks on th highway. Don’t know where they are staging but many heading up from Fla. I’m sure most thought I was one of them, bringing back my new (used) bucket. Any way, I got home safe and and don’t care to drive again for a while. Three days on the road, yuk. And just in time to get the remnants of this storm, yeah.....
Yeah, driving sucks! Can’t believe I drove that far to buy something, but was worth it I guess. As far as the storm, I’m as ready as anyone can reasonably be. I’m definitely not going to starve anyways. I got six more cans of freeze dried stuff delivered while I was traveling and barely fit it in here.I'm glad you got the bucket.
I don't know if you can, but three days on the road... Try to take a day off to recuperate.
North Georgia... Pretty country.
Live cam from Kill Devil Hills in NC. I believe this is from a lighthouse cam.

I’m having coffee on the deck and just getting a slow easy start to the day here. The sky is clear blue with no wind at all. Without the news there is no way to tell there is a big nasty storm not far off.
Do you ever sleep! Honestly, I like mornings too, but usually start at 5:30.Lol, I cant see my sky, it still dark thirty here 4:34.... sorry I got a chuckle out your post

I think your wife gets the better end of that deal!I’m up at 3 every morning like clock work, couple of the grand kids are up out checking on the animals and loading the feeders, I’ll check on them then head back to fix breakfast then by 5 the wife up showered and ready for breakfast, the kids or all up by 5 and come over at my place for breakfast. That’s pretty much 7 days a week.
Sorry, but I have no sympathy for idiots that build houses on barrier islands...
Honestly, I haven’t seen anything at all. The storm has pulled the moisture away from us and it was sunny and 94degs today. They say we might get a little rain on Sunday, maybe.Mine too (wife getting better end of the deal). I'm up at a more sane 6am, to go bring in the horses, and drop hay, feed, water, and feed/water the barn cats, bunnies and chickens. She's up a little later, and feeds the inside cats and dogs. Then we both get ready for work. I'm driving for an hour, while she gets to sit in the passenger seat playing on her phone. LOL. We work until 6pm, then the hour commute back. Once home, I go feed the horses again, then turn them out (and clean stalls), while she feeds the inside ones and preps dinner.
How are you faring Brent, get a lot of wind, rain?
