Here is where the eye of Florence is making landfall...Carolina Beach.
Now if I'm not mistaken...Carolina Beach is a Barrier Island meaning that it is a barrier between the ocean and the mainland.
So why are there houses? Every one of these houses on Carolina Beach is up to the roof right now in water. I mean, I guess I'm OK with someone taking the risk of building on a barrier island as long as it is their risk. But what do you want to bet that we the taxpayers are going to be paying for this through Federal Flood Insurance?
Sorry, but I have no sympathy for idiots that build houses on barrier islands...
Lisa's friend Brian lives on that island, he loaded his motor home and evac Tuesday to northern Florida, he said a good portion of the people their were staying when he left, he knows several people staying and having friends over for a hurricane party, Brian talked to his friend Thursday around 11am and they were still their with a house full. Na, one can't feel sorry for these idiots!
