Not a matter of speed. It is having a better 'step back and keep your eyes out for flying stuff' path. Having to step over a bunch of brush/limbs while watching for flying widow makers, ain't the best plan. Look for where you want the tree to go, then look to where YOU are going to go before even setting the saw to the tree.
