As a recovered alcoholic I need to avoid any chemicals that will alter the way I feel.
I have taken opioids prescribed for post surgery, but I am extremely careful about sticking to the mandated dosage and stop as soon as I don’t need them anymore.
Medical marijuana for me would be like a loaded gun pointed at my head.

The more stoners there are, the easier it will be to push thru their agendas, and get even more people to vote for them.

I'm really torn on this thought, because I have some friends from college who have become stereotypical stoner wastes of space who have totally locked onto the government welfare teat and will be happy as long as they have their weed and TV. I can see what damage that is possible.

On the other hand I have some friends and neighbors who have been helped immensely by medical marijuana. One was a cancer patient who was able to get some pain and nausea relief making his last days with his family more meaningful. Another has horrible neuropathy (from chemo) and the weed works 500% better for 1/4 of the monthly cost his other meds he was using to treat it. The last one was on opiates for pain and was becoming a vegetable before switching to mm. He's gotten his life back and is able to enjoy time with his grandkids and volunteer in the community again.

I think anything that gives us more personal involvement in our health care and less dependence on big pharma is a good thing. IMHO it's up to each of us to know our limits with any potentially mind altering substance. I don't drink as I tend to break out in handcuffs when I do, but I keep ketamine in my medicine cabinet and use it 2-3 times a week to treat my PTSD. I treat it with a very healthy respect!

So has my wife - she hasn’t slept in the same room with me for 30 years.

I am just going to make one comment. It is NOT the government's business and never has been what you put into your body.
I personally will never go back to taking xanax for my anxiety issues and will move to another country if they ever make it illegal here again

oh and one more thing, if they ever have a conservative running that says he will make it illegal, I will do something I have never done in my life and vote for the liberal

We used CBD on the Kids old service dog for arthritis. It kept him moving well for a couple of years. Without it it hurt to stand and use stairs.

I saw that Florida, beginning July 1st, 2023, no longer demands a concealed weapons permit. One criteria I found interesting is that it you ever applied for a medical marijuana card, you are not allowed to conceal a handgun. How many back in the day now regret picking up that cool pot card?

The why is not the issue for me. The fact that it remains a controlled substance federally means that If I want to keep my CCL and the ability to buy guns I stay away from its use. Getting a prescription is a great way to get caught when buying a gun.

Same in Ohio, a medical MJ card is a disqualifier for concealed carry. "Constitutional: or CHL". It remains a Schedule don't do that drug.

I will exercise the 5th on any past present or future use.
