Y'know if I was into conspiracy theories I would certainly be very interested in what China is doing to the Global economies whilst both Saudi and Russia are playing silly buggers with oil.

If I did not know better I would start to think this is the OPENING SHOTS in an ECONOMIC WAR.

1 Russia and Saudi are crippling US Shale oil industries, Which could see THEM and benefit THEM by crippling PART of the US economy and knocking Shale oil out of the ring.

2 China has raked in TRILLIONS of Dollars from TRADE in the last 25 years, now this convenient pandemic has left western GOVERNMENTS in massive debt and western economies in dire straight with dozens of millions of workers and western companies out of business, which cripples even more of our economy.

3 Flow of ESSENTIAL materials and componants and goods we allowed our companies to moved to China has STOPPED this leaves those companies and people furloughed or unemployed BUT China now has ALL of those materials / goods/ componants in its control and China has a surplus of cash in the Trillions.

As the CONVENIENT pandemic wanes WHO do you think is going to be best placed to dominate the global oil markets and perhaps even for a change in oil trade from Dollars to Rubles ??
AND WHO do you think now has the cash to buy up all these struggling and bankrupt western companies??.

If I was a bit paranoid I think by looking at the future I would now be a LOT more paranoid.

NOW if China / Russia or their allies suddenly find a cure for Corona I think I would be prety darn convinced this whole crisis was an artificial contstruct.

I’ve been thinking the same thing...

New Movie from lefty Moore, Planet of the Humans...

It was enough to make my head explode,” Gibbs confesses at one point. “Green energy is not going to save us.”

...No indeed. But it’s going to make a few ugly and cynical crony capitalists very, very rich.

Gibbs follows the money trail and discovers — quelle surprise! — that the people and organizations most assiduously stoking the war on fossil fuels and most aggressively promoting “renewables” as an alternative are invariably the ones who stand to benefit most financially.

Among the Hall of Shame: Canadian activist Bill McKibben; Al Gore; Van Jones; Robert F Kennedy Jr; Jeremy Grantham; Michael Bloomberg; Richard Branson.

These are revealed to have an unhealthily cozy relationship with green NGOs like the Sierra Club and The Nature Conservancy, which mouth the usual environmental pieties while yet quietly promoting energy which is every bit as environmentally destructive as fossil fuels.

The worst of these, the documentary suggests, are biofuels and biomass. We visit one biomass plant on the shores of Lake Superior — awarded a $11.5 million government grant because it qualifies as “renewable” energy — which encourages its green wood chips to burn with the help of tire fragments and creosote (causing the snow to turn black).

Time and again — because Gibbs hangs out among his own kind: liberal-leaning environmental activists; lefty academics; etc — we witness the shock in these people’s eyes. They consider themselves to be green; they want desperately to save the planet; yet here are these monstrosities being erected across the U.S. in the name of the environment which wipe out native forests, pollute the air, and ravage the landscape with wind towers and solar panels which are left to rot once their useful life (less than 20 years, often) is over.”

Looks like Green Energy isn’t so green!

What are we going to make car truck and tires from? What is your electric car going to fuel from? How are the largest majority of people not going to freeze to death? How are lights going to be on...or electricity for water and sewage?
GeorgiaPeachie, you haven't been around long enough to learn about bigpaul. All these consequences you mention are desirable to bigpaul. He's be thrilled to have no electricity, no cars, no oil, no municipal water or sewage, and most importantly NO PEOPLE.

Well then I guess he will understand when I say he would not be missed.

Not to mention roads, food production, pumping and moving water. Everything depends on oil, gas and/or coal. Without it we'd be living in caves and making tools from stone. I think that some people just don't know, or care, how important the energy industry is to our way of life. They also bought in to the green weenie movement and feel the need to demonize something they know nothing about.

Electric, solar and hydro all still depend on oil, but letting them become the primary source of energy and fossil fuels become the secondary would make our planet a lot cleaner.

Energy is a needed and wonderful thing we all depend on. I just think it makes sense to look for cleaner forms of it. No one thinks we are going to simply stop using fossil fuels instantly. But the technology is getting better every day and the switch over just makes sense. If anyone still thinks burning coal is smart then they have their head buried in the sand, or at least should...

I’m afraid there are more than a few who are stupid enough to think we can all survive without fossil fuels. Have you seen Moore’s Planet of the Humans?

BP is talking about doing away with fossil fuels altogether. We just aren’t in the position to do that at this time.
I agree we aren’t there yet but we are close. I’m not sure if I am going to go completely solar yet but I will do 2/3’s soon. The technology we have now is capable but definitely needs more trial and error. Look at how far we have come from the model t car. In roughly 100 years. Just think where our energy sources could be if we keep developing them

I think he is fairly intelligent but he has an agenda. I guess most do on both sides of issues. Oil is a natural product and has thousands of uses. I just don’t think it should be burned at the rates we are doin it at. We know it pollutes the air and environment, so it only makes sense to start phasing it down as our primary source of energy. We will be lucky to accomplish this in 50 years. It definitely won’t happen overnight.

In this pipe dream scenario, just who is going to produce the still needed limited amounts of oil required to build and maintain the wind, solar and hydro? Do you have any idea what it costs to drill a single producing well? Even a small rig can run well over $150,000 per day, with no guarantee of reaching a paying quantity of oil. Then you have to build the tank farms to hold the oil, then build pipelines to the gathering centers, then the main lines to the refiners. The answer is; nobody is going to take on the enormous cost and risk if there was only a small market for the product.
But again, petroleum products are used in far more than just energy sources. Name anything that isn't touched on some way by oil and gas.
Oil and gas isn't going anywhere. People have become accustomed to our current standard of living. Most people don't want to go back to the stone age.

Still no acknowledgement about how the influx of millions every single year cause even more pollution, eh?

I don’t see it as an either all or nothing deal. There will always be those that will produce it if there is a market. It just won’t be pumped by the billions of gallons like it is now

Nothing we do is 100% clean or efficient. But dosent it make sense to strive to focus on ways to improve the lasting impact we have on the air we breath and water we drink?

Of course it does, BUT the fact remains that humans cause the pollution. Only by stopping the huge immigration will we even have a CHANCE to clean up our air, water and soil! Not to mention keeping what forests and trees we still have.

We will never have a clean environment with millions more humans here! It simply isn’t possible.

I won’t argue with you about needing to stop the unregulated immigration. I don’t like this administration’s ideas of how to stop it but completely agree it needs to be controlled. Putting people in cages sucks, we can do better than that. A wall is 10,000 year old technology and isn’t practical in many areas along the souther border. Most of them drive through checkpoints now, along with the vast majority of drugs. I think the main corridors do need better security and barriers, but not a 3000 mile barrier across ecosystems and vast desert areas. One quick solution is instant deportations. Another is an I’d system to purchase anything. With the hatred from both sides our govt has become ineffective in resolving anything. We need a moderate that can try to work with both sides.

this could be solved easily,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,all trespassers will be shot on sight,,,,,,,,,,,,BOOM NO MORE CAGES

I don’t know how well that idea would work out but I do agree it’s a problem that needs to be stopped. I still know that a one way plane ticket and a meal would be a fraction of what we spend now. And I mean in the first 24 hrs they are caught.

308 IS LESS THAN $1.00 A ROUND,,,,,,,,,,,,,,ONE HELL OF A LOT CHEAPER THAN A PLANE TICKET AND A MEAL,,,,,,AND ONCE THE WETBACKS KNEW WHAT WAS WAITING ON THEM THEY WOULD STOP COMING

It's a good thing Trump stopped Obama's policy of putting illegals into cages. You also agree with a trump on not putting up a wall 2000 miles of the border, most of the border only has fences or anti vehicle obstacles. Under 700 miles is a wall. A worker I.D. system would be good, but Democrats block that solution. The hate only comes from one side, the same side that does not want to solve any of the problems, only create more problems so they can regain power.

The hate is equal from both sides. I have stated that Obama was wrong with the cages too. It’s expensive and inhumane. One facility in a desert averaged the cost to 750. per person per day. WTF! Pick the cheapest airline and send them packing....

The hate is not equal. Never has been and never will be. It's a fact and your belief that it is will never be true. No person is equal as a whole to another. We may all have equal opportunities, but results will always vary.

you think it is equal ,,,,I have never seen a President hounded like Trump has been,,,,,,,,,the assault started a year before he was elected,,,,,,,,,,,,and even you can not deny that

and you a blind Democrat you think the hate is equal

humans lived for thousands of years without using fossil fuels.
no we cant ALL survive, many cant and don't want to, but it is possible, all it needs is the ability to adapt to the new normal, ADAPT OR DIE!

LMAO! And I thought you were a preper. You do know fences/walls work, right? . They slow invaders and good ones stop invaders. Every prison has them. Politicians have them around their homes! Guess what is around all the uber wealthy bigmouth libs homes? WALLS!

The other side does not WANT to stop the multi millions from sneaking into our country. They not only want them to sneak in, they HELP them stay here illegally! They even help the child rapists and drunk drivers who have already murdered Americans.

Stuck in cages? Oh, right. The ones Obama had constructed. They aren’t cages, they are fencing to keep the rapists away from the young ones! The Dems won’t pass any legislation to deport them or to stop them. As I said, they WANT them here. They want our country filled with those who will vote for socialism and give government total control.

Sending them straight back is the perfect solution, but the Dems won’t change the law to allow it.
