I have 3 cases of 91 alcohol, I'll use it instead of hand sanitizer when I run out, alcohol is far cheaper per ounce and basically the same thing. At home, soap and water.
My coworker and I are going to be making hand sanitizer for our employees. We work with the elderly to it's important to have and while I may have a personal stash, the office definitely was not prepared. We're using high concentration rubbing alcohol and mixing with aloe gel but making sure to maintain 60% alcohol. I'm reminding and encouraging my employees to practice good sanitation and hygiene at all times, not just at work so they will not get sick and potentially spread to a patient.
Now the main question is how many weeks, or months will this slow motion train wreck last?
I was telling my Dad that it feels the day before a hurricane. But every day feels like that. Watching, waiting, wondering what will happen. Today at work we got the protocols on how to handle for our industry. We are now providing additional training to all employees. But at the end of the day I feel like it only makes so much difference and what will happen, will happen. We just have to be prepared for it to get bad, and hope for the best.

That we are rethinking our preps after the news today. Maverick shared with us that Lebanon, Oregon has closed all their grocery stores.

they can't do that,,,,,it will cause riots thefts home invasions,,,,,people will not sit and starve they will go door to door and take what others have...........................there will be more killed over that than what the Virus will kill

That's a true SHTF event if this starts happening all across the country.

Well sad to say, the panic buying has hit Tucson, AZ. The wife wanted to go visit Wally World to pick up some snacks. Well surprise, surprise, the store was packed like a weekend sale was being held and all the T.P., paper towels, napkins, hand sanitizer and wipes were sold out. I am very disappointed in the people of Arizona. I guess too many liberals have moved in to the Freedom state.

I looked on Walmart website and this is what is said

We are monitoring this situation daily, and, as we do with any unusual event, we will watch what’s happening locally and adjust business operations and policies as needed. We are in close communication with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), as well as other health organizations, and are following their guidelines as well as the advice of our own Chief Medical Officer.

Oh I know that, but I'm thinking they shut the Walmart down in Kentucky over the coronavirus without notice, I'm not sure of the back story of that.

That's all I'm doing. I don't need to go anywhere nor do I need anything so I'm staying put, people are acting like they got rabies in the towns around here, they literally lost their minds.

Just in case you don’t already know An alternative to buying bleach is to buy pool shock. Bleach actually goes bad, but pool shock won’t. Just make sure it is at least 68% Calcium Hypochlorite and no coloring or smell added.

DIRECTIONS...

You can use granular calcium hypochlorite to disinfect water.

Add and dissolve one heaping teaspoon of high-test granular calcium hypochlorite (approximately ¼ ounce) for each two gallons of water, or 5 milliliters (approximately 7 grams) per 7.5 liters of water.

The mixture will produce a stock chlorine solution of approximately 500 milligrams per liter, since the calcium hypochlorite has available chlorine equal to 70 percent of its weight.

To disinfect water, add the chlorine solution in the ratio of one part of chlorine solution to each 100 parts of water to be treated. This is roughly equal to adding 1 pint (16 ounces) of stock chlorine to each 12.5 gallons of water or (approximately ½ liter to 50 liters of water) to be disinfected.
Agree with you 110%!!!

Pool shock can be used to make a bleach solution that will disinfect surfaces.

1 part bleach in 10 parts water (by volume). DO NOT MISUNDERSTAND AND MIX 1 PART POOL SHOCK WITH 10 PARTS WATER!!!!!

I meant one part of the stock bleach solution (5.25 % calcium hypochlorite solution) with 10 parts water.

We used this in EMS to disinfect equipment, stretchers, trucks, and so on.

Just keep in mind that a too-strong solution can be corrosive. Also, calcium hypochlorite can be a fire and explosion hazard (as well as releasing poisonous chlorine gas) if it's stored improperly. May sure that you mind the temperature and humidity where you store it, and make sure that animals (like rats and mice) won't be chewing into container.

Also, don't store it around gasoline, propane, certian kinds of batteries, or alcohol (including certian types of booze like Everclear, and/or Bacardi 151).

Overnight the number of confirmed cases doubled from 9 cases to 18. This morning Tn governor declared a state of emergency. While I did not go to town (on lockdown) several family members and neighbors did and I guess the Big box stores like Sams and Walmart were a real s**t show. Definitely the good people have realized this really is happening and not just "other places". They are panic buying all over the place. Toilet paper is a distant memory. Hand sanitizer, bleach, alcohol and wipes. Canned and dried foods are getting low. Tempers are flaring. When there are actual cases in this county they will lose their minds.

I am so thankful that I can sit back and watch and do not have to venture out into it. The peace of mind is so worth all the crap people give you about prepping. My welcome mat is revoked. The front blinds are drawn and the front gate is locked.

In my own experience In the last 2 weeks I have had better luck at the smaller neighborhood supermarkets such as IGA and Savealot in my area. People seem to be flocking to the big box stores. A couple days ago my husband and I rode down the mountain to buy some honey and beeswax from a local Mennonite farmer. We stopped at a small Mennonite community store and found a wonderful assortment of dried soups, dehydrated fruit, nuts and spices in bulk. Fresh farmers cheese was great. Dried beans, rice, lentils and even seeds for the garden at great prices. It was a preppers dream. We were the only people in the store. We spent about $150.00 and they gave us free homemade ice cream for the ride home. While my neighbors were fighting over toilet paper rolls in Walmart today we were grilling burgers in the backyard.

Somebody forgot to say something about calcium hypochorite...you can add it to water very slowly, BUT NEVER ADD WATER TO THE DRY CHEMICAL!!! If you dump it into water slowly, it will be diluted and poses no problems. If you add water into the chemical, it will EXPLODE: big time boom. I learned how to use it with salt to make my own type of plastic which is 1.3 times stronger than dynamite...
****it is also used as a "MMS 2"*** in capsules to take like any other tablet, Brent will explode if he reads this, his problem...google and read ALL THE REPORTS , not just what Brent reads...

UK wise some shops and supermarkets are reporting modest staff shortages as parents decide to stay at home after taking their kids out of school.
Some fast food outlets are reporting staff shortages in their diners but also a surge in diners wanting home delivery of their fast food stuffs
