@Sentry18 you have passed the female companionship test with all daughters and a feisty wife and daughter.

Did I tell you what my father told DH when he married me was that "I was a wild brumby that needed taming" and DH told him he liked me just the way I was and that is why he was marrying me because I was independent and spirited :) . Wasn't the answer father was hoping for.

:D

My wife is also quite spirited. But when she first met my mother she was surprisingly reserved and quiet. My Mom said to me "I don't know son, she seems too timid for you". A few months later she said "So I may have judged her too quickly". Now I always joke that I am the head of my house and so I am in charge! Whenever my wife let's me. ;)

I've made my own butter many times. I make it out of cream - cream that the cows made.
Growing up, I hand-milked a cow for the supply of milk for the family for years. 1-1/2 to 2 gallons every day.
We teenagers loved to have real whipped-cream on fresh fruit.
You know what else we learned?
For just a few cups of whipped-cream, somebody had to drink a BUNCH of skim-milk:eek:. Cool-whip was a bargain!

I still have a hint of 'Popeye' forearms 45 years later:rolleyes:.

Edit: Forgot the photo. Nice house on the river:

I would love to shop there!

In HS, I would milk for the neighbor when she had to leave. Hubby used to claim to want a milk cow until I told him he was responsible for finding someone who would actually take his place when he wanted to leave to go fishing at Odarkthirty, or work late or leave for the weekend and that someone wouldn't be me. You can almost set your watch by many a cow.
